Just don't get involved in what doesn't concern you.
This is generally a good rule of thumb for life in general >.>

Nuka also mentioned you were cleaning up the audio for the podcast we did, so thanks. And Godspeed <.<

The Art board wasn't 2.0. That's obviously HQ.
Bit of a mundane name for our seat of government.

Should be renamed Miniluv

Camnator has shown time and time again that he has an incredibly propensity to just cause trouble. I'd have left him perma'd.

Or at least heavier than a month.

I firmly believe in hierarchy, but that also confers responsibility.

Police officers who fuck up should absolutely be punished more heavily than citizens for crimes they commit, and sergeants more than constables.

All three of those can also be the same with IRL Communist regimes
I know, but I'm talking about perceptions not actualities.

First of all, none of them were actually communist. They were probably actually closer to fascism.

I think, however, fascism is a much greater insult for three very simple reasons. I) We've been to war with fascism. II) We associate fascism with Nazism. III) They're associated with monolithic, overbearing governments and fanatical racism.

When you look at things like Stalin's regime you see something somewhat ramshackle, less threatening and simply not as fanatical.

10212
In certain situations, things have to be taken to action in a swift manner to prevent unnecessary collateral damage
And he very nearly was shot.

10213
he did commit a crime but wasn't all the way there.
It's exactly the same for psychopaths.

10214
But how do you know for certain this person is a nutcase?
Having a 16-year-old point a rifle at police is fairly indicative of some sort of antisocial tendencies. I'm essentially the most serious authority on this site on the issue - as Mr. P will surely attest - since I know what it's like to think like him, and I've done my research.

There are ways of separating the wolves from the herd. We'll find out soon enough. The point, however, is that if he is indeed antisocial, then we cannot seriously say he knows right from wrong.

10215
Know what the court will do? Laugh and say it doesn't matter what I feel, I've been told and it's written that committing certain acts is wrong
Which is why psychopathy isn't considered an illness with which one can be classed criminally insane.

Let me change tack and ask you a direct question: If you find a man who has murdered a woman "just to know what it felt like", and then further examination showed a tumor the size of a golf-ball in his prefrontal cortex, would you hold him seriously morally responsible?

10216
You're not my parent or any authority figure
Which is exactly how a psychopath responds to pretty much anybody who isn't himself.

I'm glad you've reached a decision, man, and I hope it works out for the best. All the luck in the world to you.

10219
I get the whole lack of emotions, but they have been told what's right and what's wrong. There doesn't need to be a whole complicated response that pointing a firearm at people is wrong; it's wrong, don't do it, simple as that.
You obviously don't get it. It's like telling an alcoholic to just stop drinking. Or telling somebody who's depressed to just cheer up. If this were ADHD, or some sort of minor impulse control disorder then I'd understand, but you seem to be completely missing the point that these emotional disconnections and brain abnormalities lead it to be one of the most difficult to treat disorders. It also doesn't help that most psychopaths are narcissistic.

It's like expecting Ted Bundy to listen to you when you give him a stern telling off.

10220
But they still know committing a felony is still wrong
That's the thing though - they don't. They know that a judge tells them it's wrong, and that they'll be arrested and that society will demonise them, but they lack the ability to factor that in to an emotional consideration. People with ASPD - especially psychopaths - have brain abnormalities which account for this.

In all seriousness, though. When it comes to you, Sandtrap, do whatever will take the burden off you. Nobody here will hold it against you for doing what you think is right in your time of difficulty.

10224
but they don't have a care what if what they do is wrong
Which is exactly the point. People with ASPD literally lack the emotional connection necessary for moral motivation. It's not that they decide to be an immoralist cunt - they are literally incapable of properly perceiving the weights and scales involved in ethical conduct.

I gotta say that do agree with others that your ego might be a little too big.
Don't get me wrong, I know where you're coming from. I've never tried to deny that I have a somewhat inflated ego and enjoy authority, but I'm generally intelligent enough to know where the lines are and when it's appropriate to (not) cross them.

Of course, your judgement is your own, and moderation is a collective responsibility. If you don't think I'm suitable for the position, then you're fully within your privileges to say so and fight any advances I might make. I won't hold that against you.

But, like you say, this thread is less about me and more about Sandtrap's situation.

And if you want to give it a shot, know that you're walking into the digital equivilent of a minefield.
I'm not one to refuse a challenge.

Although, as Nuka said, I don't want it to look like I'm promoting myself or trying to exploit your situation. If not me, then somebody else would be willing to give it their best effort. The main thing is that you don't worry about what would happen if you aren't around to have some sort of moderating influence - the site will continue working and the community will continue to function, whether in a state of gridlock or not.

The Flood / Re: I've got a question for you folks

I'd gladly take your place, Sand, if you feel you aren't fit for the position. Although you should consult Cheat personally regarding your discomfort.
I don't think this is the place for you to promote yourself.
My intentions were mostly good. I'm just trying to point out that if he decides to drop the position then there are people willing to pick up the slack and make sure everything runs smoothly, if that'd be better for Sandtrap's health.

I'll admit I could've phrased it in a way which came across as less narcissistic and Machiavellian, though >.>
