I feel like I'm the only person who enjoyed 4B's Terminus journey arc.

It's been near flawless so far.

Although my list is a bit different to yours.

S6 > S5B > S4B > S5A > S1 > S3A > S4A > S3B > horseshit > S2

To be fair though Season 2 had 18 Miles Out which was a great episode.

In all seriousness, why do you complain about High Charity's size of all things? Think about it, what would have going out of the way through some means, that would likely have seemed impossible for any of the characters other than Gravemind to know how he did it, have actually added to Halo 3's story-telling narrative? I can't imagine how telling such a thing to the audience, regardless of how well the means fit into the story, would have made the game better in any way.
Because it makes no sense.

High Charity should not have been able to get to the Ark.

But it did.
This is actually really simple.
1.) What would it add to the plot? Oh, nothing.
2.) How would it make the narrative stronger? Oh, it wouldn't.

It adds nothing, it would only take up more space, more space is more time and more resources. This might be the most insignificant thing, as it has no effect on the story at all, you could complain about.

Nobody playing the games and novels only would have found anything to complain about here, I'd like to point out. It doesn't make sense, gee, it's almost like the story doesn't need to explain how every single event happens. It's not like it's implausible that Gravemind would've been able to figure something out if there was a problem, come on guy.
Except it's just more evidence of how little Bungie cared for the plot at this point. The game's already full of plot holes and character assassinations and this just adds to the list. Nowhere had it been established prior to Halo 3 that objects bigger than a portal can pass through.
The effect it has on the story is that it loses consistency and means events later on shouldn't have been able to happen.

Another fellow CompSci kid...

This sounds like a weird choice for you. What caused you to make the decision?
i like designing shit, and i've always sort of wanted to learn to program

i know i have the chops for it, but i'm not sure if i'll have the patience for it, which is the scary thing

also i suck at math, so i'm gonna have to start out on the very bottom rung of math courses, but
w/e

i like math--the only thing that was deterring me in HS was apathy, and i can't afford to be apathetic anymore
Oh, cool.

It's a pretty damn challenging subject, and a lot of patience is required, but I find it really interesting. In my (short) experience programming is both the most frustrating and also the most satisfying thing to do.

Halo 3 had the Covenant as a mission. That was hands down the most fun mission in any halo game ever. Two. Scarabs.

Reach had the best story narrative, the slow demise of your squad whilst you try to save the planet ;-;7 RIP remember reach never 5get.
One mission does not save it from a shitty plot full of holes.

While it had a good narrative (that butchered previously established lore), it had bland characters, bland settings and annoying squad AI.
I don't see any plotholes in the story.
You land on earth after halo 2, you link up with the friendly elites and shoot your way to the main base for the humans. You then help the humans on earth whilst the covvies dig up the keyship, which opens the portal to the ark. You go to the ark, stop them making more halo rings and the flood arrive to fuck shit up. You beat them all, escape but get cut off by the explosions/portal and go to sleep.

Oh, same shit different name.

It's been years since I played it anyhoo.

So weren't you taking out the AA gun so the UNSC could try and mac round the shit out of the ship or something?
The idea is to destroy the dreadnaught, but they don't.
Well they aren't just gonna sit back and say ho hum, you have to try even if you fail <_<
The point is is that it's not a particularly good or eventful story. The first four missions don't really contribute much to the story.

They've still fucked up with my pre-order though. Had to get my address deliver changed and that required them cancelling the current order and starting a new one, except this new one costs £83.32 rather than the £79.99 it should have cost. Haven't bothered asking about it because I just can't be arsed with them anymore. And it's only an extra £3-£4 so it's not that big a deal.
Egh, wait that's for the pipboy edition?

<_<

Jews charged me £99.99
what the fuck, it costs me 120
Bong money is more valuable than yank money you see, 120 dollars is close enough to 100 bong but the exchange rates keep fluctuating.

So for once we are paying about the same things on either side of the pond.

Usually we just get wallet raped by it though, $60 =/= £55
Or in the case of Destiny where they couldn't be bothered to convert so just charged us the same number for DLC.

In terms of gameplay, it's kind of impossible to compare Fallout 1 and 2 to 3 and NV, considering they're entirely different genre's at that point.
which is interesting

how come they made such a drastic change anyway
Well, 1 and 2 were made by Interplay, 3 and NV by Bethesda.

Bethesda published it, Obsidian (the remnants of Interplay IIRC) made sure it was more to the original Fallouts (keeping to lore in the West Coast and all that).
I realise that, my point was 3 and NV were both from a different company to the first two.

<_<
