Thank fuck for that.

>yfw they dont realise how effective it was to keep aliens and magic and shit on the periphery of things, suggested but never made true, only in easter eggs and side shit.

Something else I hate about Bethesda's Fallout (more of a problem in Fallout 4) is how they've given pre-war robots (Mr Handies in particular) completely human-like AI personalities. It's like Bethesda forgot that one of the main differences between this universe and ours is that the transistor wasn't invented until a few years before the war, and even then it was rarely used, so having such advanced personalities in these robots shouldn't be a thing. Especially when you have the ZAX computers which were built to have artificial intelligence and had to be absolutely huge to accomplish the task.

EDIT: Before anyone brings up Lonesome Road's ED-E, ED-E was a post-war prototype unlike the other eyebots. And Robobrains and the Think Tank use...brains.

It wouldn't make sense for the Mordinos to spend so much money on slaves for testing Jet, or go to the trouble of testing on slaves in the first place if Jet already existed.

State of Decay 2 was the most exciting thing for me. Loved the first game.

fallout 5's dlc will consist of a literal wasteland workshop where you make your own wasteland by putting bits of dirt together

while we're still talking about fallout 3, have we all seen this

YouTube

it's just this epic takedown of the entire game, and he makes a lot of great points

still like the game though
He makes some good points, but I still love the game. I dislike this attitude a lot of Youtubers have where they try to convince you that a game is bad and you shouldn't like it just because they made a long-ass video on why they don't like it. *cough*bdobbins*cough*

tbh I never had a problem with there being a white-knight faction of the brotherhood, but it would've made more sense if THEY were the outcasts.

it was more the fact that you were forced to work with them that sucked
That wouldn't make any sense. The only reason the BoS was "good" in Fallout 3 was because of Lyons. If he wasn't elder, they would be the same cookie cutter anti-villiains they were in the originals. And no Brotherhood member would actually go far enough to betray the organization and defect from it unless they believed that they were completely justified in doing so and had to do it. Defecting to help out the Capitol Wasteland and save people? What fucking knight or paladin would do that? Defecting to defend the Codex and the purpose of the Brotherhood? Almost any knight or paladin would at least consider it.

I definitely agree that you should've been able to choose your faction in F3, though. Would be interesting to be able to choose from Lyons' BoS, the Outcasts/original BoS, the Enclave, or independent.
I don't mean defected in the same style as the Outcasts but more like having the two factions exist within the same Brotherhood, with Lyons' faction having a bit less support, and have the player witness the infighting firsthand and perhaps have a hand in the outcome.

oh shit I forgot that they hated ghouls
Everyone did

because they didn't flesh the BoS out at all in Fallout 3. Credit to them for actually making them a flawed faction again in 4. All of them are flawed in their own way, and that's a lot of what Fallout is about.
Yeah, their portrayal could have been better. I was more talking about their goal of helping wastelanders when I said "white-knight" rather than them being completely 100% good-guys.

And the fact they said they hated Ghouls, yet they don't show any signs, or quests of hating them. Anyone in a fucked up world like that, that's 100% good, is inherently flawed if you ask me.

The same way it is in the 40k universe. Even if the humans are mostly what you'd see as the "good" guys in that world, they're still insanely fucked up and xenophobic.
oh shit I forgot that they hated ghouls

How did Fallout 3 make it canon?
There were jet containers in some of the sealed vaults, but that was more of a result of the randomised loot system.
If that's the case, then I hope I'd hope it's more of the same for Fallout 4. But I think I remember them specifically mentioning it in a vault.
It's in that vault with the gunners. The vault received shipments of Jet alongside a load of other drugs, thus implying that Jet existed before the war.

I'm also gonna clarify that I don't dislike Fallout 4. I think it's a great game. It's just the direction that it's putting Fallout in that I dislike. As well as the lore.

fallout 3 was less offensive because it was still an rpg back then and was relying on previous games' lore a lot, but only with a surface level understanding. fallout 4 on the other hand...

there are people who unironically chose jane and believe in pranking mentally ill people and pretending to kill a baby
If it was a choice between Hitler and Kenny, I would've chose Hitler

Boatmaster Xtreme should've died in like season 1 episode 1
jane should have died when she ate that glass before the apocalypse even started.

I actually got pretty sad watching the Fallout stuff.
Yeaaaah I feel like Fallout 4 as a whole has been a huge middle finger to Fallout and the fans. Bethesda saying fuck you to previously established lore, fuck you to Interplay, fuck you to Obsidian, fuck you to fans of the series.

Nuka World as a concept doesn't even interest me. It doesn't even seem to involve interesting factions, just generic raiders who have taken over an amusement park. I would've preferred something relating to, well, anything else really. I don't see it adding to the lore (what's left of it, anyway) or adding any interesting characters or factions.
Bethesda have proven time and time again to have no grasp on what Fallout actually is. This DLC stuff hammered home just how out-of-touch they are with the franchise.
