Lmao imagine actually being mad that keyes in the tv show is black

his race was such an essential part of his character in CE

But don't you remember his Famous speech at the start of the game?

"...which is where you come in, Chief. Get Cortana off this ship. Keep her away from the enemy. If they capture her, they'll learn everything; Force deployment, weapons research....Earth. And I don't just mean the split-jaws, Chief. But also those spooks, like Johnson and Ramirez. Can't trust women like Foehammer either. This is the White Man's Burden, like they called it some 600 years ago. The future of the UNSC, of humanity lies in white fellowship and strength."

When he hands Chief the magnum:
I don't keep it loaded, but if any non-white service member gives you trouble, I trust you know what to do.

I honestly still can't believe BUNGiE got away with putting something like that in the game.
Honestly didn't realise what he was saying there but you've really put it into perspective for me. Damn, what a terrible casting choice.

The working class are in for a nasty shock when Brexit doesn't magically solve all their problems and likely makes things a whole lot worse instead.

Although I guess the Tories would find another scapegoat in that case.

Brexit is now official law.
Still needs to get through the EU.

Saw Jojo Rabbit the other day.

I think I'd gone in expecting a full-blown comedy only to get something that wasn't quite that, so while I was watching it I wasn't too sure. But having given it some thought it's a really good film, just not the one I expected, and I did enjoy it a lot. May need to give it a second viewing but at the moment it might be tied with Knives Out as my top film of 2019. Although given that the only other stuff I watched was sequels and big franchise films those two weren't really up against much.

Enjoying the show a lot, onto episode 6 now. My main problem is there's not much sense of scale, the characters just seem to appear in places throughout the season with no indication of where these places are in this world. The timeline issue isn't as bad as people are making it out to be, it becomes clear around episode 4 when the different timelines are taking place.

The Season 4 finale kinda works as a series finale anyway, most of the characters end up in the same or very similar positions at the end of Season 8 as they do around this point in the series.

Only watched the first episode but seems alright so far. The two plotlines felt a bit disconnected and clunky but aside from that I enjoyed it.

Also reminded me I need to carry on with TW3.

gotta say i'm not looking forward to another year or two of star wars fans being melodramatic just because a film they didn't like came out

star wars is ruined, just like it was in 2017, 2015, 2005, 2002, 1999, 1983, and 1980

it's just a bit tiresome

I saw a triple billing of the sequel trilogy last night with the midnight premiere of TROS.

Uhm.

I have no idea what the fuck I watched but I was both horrified by and loving every second of it.

I'm not sure how I could describe it in terms of quality. TLJ is still definitely the best of the trilogy (and the saga), but I think I would rather watch  9 than 7, although I think 7 is the better movie... maybe? I'm still trying to process everything.

4 = 5 = 8 > 7 > Solo > 6 > 3 > 2 > 1 > RO
I'd put 9 either above or below 7

Your garbage sense of humor is one of the reasons you have no matches on all those dating apps you use. In fact it might be the reason that other girl dumped you.

This was inevitable, and has been overdue since 2017.

The reason why Labour did so well in that election was the Tories underestimated the social media battleground. This year they dominated it. The only social media site to ban targeted political ads was Twitter. Otherwise, I couldn't scroll through my Facebook timeline without seeing several Conservative ads. If you were to Google "Labour Manifesto" the first result would be a Tory-paid ad for their "Cost of Corbyn" website. Go on YouTube and you may even get a Conservative ad there. Where small, independent, left-leaning blogs were found all over Facebook in 2017, now they are intentionally suppressed, and directly sharing them is the only way to have them seen.

The real winners here are Murdoch and the tech giants. With them at the Conservatives' side, this election and every future one is effectively rigged in their favour. I will vote in every election while I remain in the country, but there is no real value to it, and with the Tories having a huge majority in parliament, there is no chance of reforming our voting system to something other than FPTP which now solely favours the Tories. It doesn't matter if the next Labour leader is on the hard left like Corbyn or a Blairite. Just as Brown, Miliband, and Corbyn was smeared and eviscerated by the media despite being fairly radically different from each other, the next leader will also be up against the media.

Ask a working class voter why they didn't vote Labour, and the answer will be along the lines of what they read about him in the Daily Mail, or that he wouldn't say where the money for his policies came from, despite Boris making similar spending pledges. The weird and kind of horrific thing is, a lot of these people KNEW Boris and the Tories were lying to them, and yet they voted them anyway. Something very weird has gone on this election.

In short, the UK is fucked.

This basically gives 2024 to the Tories too, so we're in for a whole new decade of their shit, but far less restricted (especially considering their clause on page 48 of their manifesto).

It's going to take an entire generation or two to fix things, all because David Cameron thought he could gamble with a fed up electorate.

Brits have changed their mind about Brexit! Remain parties Labor and Lib Dems tanking.
Even though polls have Remain/Referendum parties on around 53% of the vote, same parties receiving a majority of the vote in the European Elections. I know polls aren't always the most trustworthy things but this is hardly "tanking". If Boris does get a majority it's only because FPTP is a broken system, not because most people want Brexit.
