Serious / Re: Piracy is not really a crime

Still a shitty thing to do.
i never cared what's considered a "crime" as much as i care about what's a bad or stupid thing to do
How is it a bad thing to do? This study proves otherwise.
you don't pay for thing

you don't get thing

simple

i don't care if it boosts sales in the long run by making the product more accessible or whatever bullshit justification there is

i'm sure if we broke every law in existence, there are specific circumstances that it might end up being good in the long term

but they're still not okay

I moved out last week and now I've realised that I honestly have no idea what to do in regards to food. I'm honestly not quite sure what I've made for dinner for the past two weeks.
Learn some recipes that look tasty, and shop them in advance. Know what you'll want to eat for the next week, you don't necessarily even have to know which days.

Breakfast is a little easier.
I just keep cereal, eggs, and some type of breakfast meat around and eat what I want depending on how I feel when I get up. Replenish supply as needed.

Keeping deli meats and cheeses, fresh veggies, and a loaf of bread is paramount.
Not a bad idea to keep some snacks lying around, either.

When I first moved out I lived on frozen food and takeout, which was a huge mistake.
I forgot I made this post, sorry Desty and Nick, I did read what you guys said I just forgot to reply.

Honestly my main issue is that all the stuff I know of takes like an hour or more to cook and prepare and shit, and that's an hour I could spend doing basically anything else. Plus, I can pretty easily get distracted and forget stuff so I basically have to sit there for an hour to make sure I don't do anything. Also the last time I tried cooking anything without help it went terribly - tasted pretty bad and ended up with one of my pan lids melting because someone turned one of the hobs on (I hadn't been using it, I just put the thing on there because I thought it was off). So I guess I'm just looking for excuses not to when I can just put something in the microwave for five minutes and go back to something interesting.
That's how you get fat.

Pretty much why I always print alt covers, or use the reverse ones when devs are so kind to print on the inside.

But even if the art was always god tier, I would still replace it because:

I'm honestly starting to believe that Verbatim is some sort of demiurge that feeds on the anguish of the human race, only he desperately wants to die and can't do that until his food supply is exhausted.

PC (GTX 1080, i7 7700k, 16gb RAM)

Asus VG248QE (144hz, 1ms, 24")
LG 29UM68-P (75hz, 5ms, ultrawide 29")
Sony Bravia (34" - hooked up to PC and cable TV)

Peripherals are Xbox 360 controller, Logitech G810 mechanical keyboard, G502 Proteus mouse, Sennheiser 360 Pro  headphones. Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3 are set up on the main TV in the living room.

Could do with some improvements (walls are still bare) but overall pretty satisfied with its current state.

Who was it that made the battlestation / gaming set-up thread?
ugh this reminds me that I need to finish moving

Yeah so this guy actually turned out to be a pretty big POS. Nothing illegal or anything but just several dick moves in a row for his own monetary gain.

There are tons of allegations of abuse, assault, etc. Dude was undeniably a piece of shit.
Doesn't mean that he was any less legendary.

Why would I buy that? I still have a big one.

snes cartridges are p much all shot memory-wise
rca cables on hd tvs create tons of input lag, and you dont strike me as the type to own a reliable crt

this solves both issues by natively running the games through hdmi and having all games and their memory built into the system
All of mine work fine, and I use coax.
I don't think I ever had the rca cables.

Some of us faster than others.

I did quite a bit of research into ultrawide monitors recently. Honestly it's a neat idea but too few games take advantage of the increase in FOV. 16:9 are much more universal and for the price you're better off just buying two of them.
Playing games or movies on two 16:9s would suck though.

You don't play one game on two monitors, you play one game on one monitor and have YouTube open on the other monitor.

I definitely understand how its an intriguing concept but it's a waste of money to buy one ultrawide screen.
I know that, but I already have a main gaming monitor that I would play games on. I'm not too interested in 3 screens (2 of which would be relatively low quality then), so I feel like getting a larger ultrawide one would be good for the second screen.

So just buy a top tier 16:9

you really dont have to if you already have a gaming monitor tho. just get something with high dynamic colouring or something for movies and such.
Well, I'm officially torn, lol.
Ultrawide is better for work, 16:9 is better for media.

If you already have a monitor you play games on, Ultrawide may be better for you. Snapping windows to the left and right is very useful on screens of this aspect ratio, and unlike in a 16:9 screen, the windows remain very useable. Almost as wide, even, as two 4:3 monitors.

This can make playing a game, watching YouTube, and chatting with friends all simultaneously a simple task, and keep your desk free of the clutter of a third screen.

Ultimately, 21:9 offers a lot of advantages for users seeking to multitask, but little for gamers.
I already ordered an ultrawide earlier today. The 29" LG 29UM68 (IPS). Featured in all but one of the "best ultrawide monitors 2017" lists I found (and the only one that didn't have it listed in its top 5 instead featured the 34" model). It's got a response time of 5ms, an input lag of 10ms and a refresh rate of 75 hz. Those are pretty decent specs and because it has some decent gaming features (it's also marketed as a gaming monitor), it should do a fine job for any games I might want to play on it. I'm not looking for the highest refresh rates (my 144hz one takes care of any fast competitive games) or 1440p (skipping that resolution for 4k in the future), so this will be excellent for me and it comes at a great price ($250). I'll be using it as my main monitor for browsing, work and everyday tasks. My 144hz one will be used for fast games and (depending on how well I like it) the ultrawide for slower games - with the other monitor serving as an extra one in that case. I'm having it delivered on Saturday and am definitely looking forward to giving it a try.
LG tends to dominate those lists, even from reviewers who purchase their test products instead of getting them free, which is a good sign.

Let's fly at half mast tomorrow in mourning.
How you meant to word that was *Lets fly at half mast tomorrow in mourning.*
No, Let's is a contraction meaning "Let us", while Lets is a present tense verb.

No. Venetian architecture is not the same as Roman architecture or Florentine architecture.

I'm going on a little break for a couple days.

There's lolis in the fridge for when you get hungry, and if you need anything, PM das because the actual staff is useless.

I'll be back next week, and this place better not be full of thoughtful, well formatted posts when I get here.

Oh yeah, and no radical Islamic terror movements.
