Wrap it in YouTube tags.

It's not a feature yet. It will be.

6153
Trust can only be modified every 24 hours by each user. It's also restricted by post count, so it is not possible to create a new account to wreck someone's trust.

Wait so what is trust and how does it work? How do you do stuff with other people's trust?
It's an invisible count of your reputation. It's used to calculate ranks and prefixes.

Also, signatures should be at the bottom of posts, and automatically seen. Like on the ProBoards site.
I don't like that idea. It makes everything load super slow on my dental-floss Internet cables.
Sigs will stay where they are. That is not going to change.

Liking is on the way and notifications are halfway there (emails). Both'll be fixed soon.

I got an error. I forgot exactly what it said, but it went something like

max_questions' resource (current value 75000)

It wouldn't let me navigate to any pages.
It's because we are so popular. I already sent in a support ticket to my host.

Be a shame if someone...made your text stop moving.

Gaming / Re: Anyone here play Pokemon?
« on: July 27, 2014, 10:02:58 PM »
I'm hoping to get a 3ds for the ruby/sapphire remakes as they look interesting... But mostly all of the new pokemon just look stupid, an ice cream pokemon? Really?
I consider the third gen the last GOOD gen. Four was OK, but I cannot stand the last two.

Let's nope on out of this topic.

I will put the PM notifications on my list, then.

Thank you for illustrating something I need to remove. Also, blame my host for the outage. I'll be having words with them and hopefully get it taken care of.
Are we able to get notifications on the site?
Push the notify button. It's below and above each thread.

Those are still kind of in the process of being fixed. They're still getting saved, but they are not reflected in the forum as of yet. That may change in the future. If not, the field will be removed.

News / Site Error

I am aware the site shutdown from too many database requests. I am in the process of fixing the issue.

I think it was because Noelle reported it
Proboards won't just take someone's word. They'll investigate first. Obviously there was someone or something breaking the rules.

Let's try not to get this one nuked.
It can't, unless you're doing something obviously illegal. But then I'd just ban you, so... 8)

News / Re: We need Mods
« on: July 27, 2014, 08:12:43 PM »
Is it okay if we do nominate ourselves?

If so, then I'll nominate myself. As I said in the other thread, I have experience moderating on a couple websites, include one that is strictly devoted to gaming. I've got access to the website from my laptop and phone and will be on often, and I'm on the East Coast. I also am neutral with most members here.

The only problem I see with voting is it becomes a popularity content, over who can best assist in running the forums and keeping the peace.
I won't just blindly hand out a mod roll based on the majority opinion. I'll vet the top nominees first and if there's someone who is particularly an asshole or feels like the wrong fit, I'll pass them on.

I do think it's important to have the members have a say on who polices them, though.

The Flood / Re: Is this the forum Kiyo made?
« on: July 27, 2014, 08:09:02 PM »
No it's some guy named Cheat. To be honest, he doesn't have much of a reputation (in other words not many people have seen him around on B.old). He seems pretty competent though, the site looks amazing.
I go by Cheatlancer everywhere but here (since Cheat's always taken). I've been a part of Bnet since...well, since Halo 3 was released. I never got famous but I was decently active.

The Flood / Re: Promotions based on years at B.net?

That's not going to happen. I am strongly considering giving veteran members an exclusive nameplate, but that'll be later on.

News / We need Mods
« on: July 27, 2014, 08:04:30 PM »
I had no idea that this forum would be such a hit. I am mildly overwhelmed and am in need of some mods to keep the peace. I realize that we don't really have a formal 'rules' thread up yet, but that's next on my very long list.

Now, I wasn't really around much in the other offsite forum. I mostly lurked near the end of its life. But I do understand that there was some sort of horrible shit that went down with the mods and a few members. I don't give a shit about that. I care about the here and now and what goes on in this forum.

So I think the fairest way to do this is to nominate members for mod status. Right now we only need about two of them, but that may change down the road. So please either comment here with someone's name or send me a PM. Later on tonight I'll set up a poll and you can vote on it.

Is that cool with you guys?

EDIT: nevermind, I just saw the thread that was created. Go here and nominate: http://sep7agon.net/index.php?topic=28.0

I also think we should be able to like/dislike posts.
This. This is the first new feature that Cheatlancer should work on. But no rush. It's a fucking hassle to code an entirely new website. I would offer to help, but I have no coding experience at all, haha
Should be pretty simple, actually. I'll put it on my list of things I need to do.

I'd like it if the forum were bigger and didn't leave so much space on the sides.
Eh, I disagree. The slimmer style is better for mobile.
It's responsive, so it'll adjust to whatever device you're using. Try it for yourself and shrink your window.

Maybe these rules aside from religion, politics, and a few other

And add a forum dedicated towards the discussion of politics and religion so it doesn't clutter The Flood forum
This will probably happen as well.

News / Signatures are live for testing
« on: July 27, 2014, 06:54:24 PM »
I just finished coding the signatures; you may find them familiar ;). To see them, click on a user's name or that snazzy arrow to the left of it. To close the sig, click the arrow or the name again.

To add/edit a signature, go to your profile >> forum profile >> edit signature. Bold, italic, strikethrough, underline, and urls are allowed. Everything else isn't. That means no images.

Remember, this is still very much fresh code and there may be bugs. Please report them here or in the support forum. Thanks very much.

The Flood / The second offsite forum got taken down

I'm laughing on the inside right now. The second offsite flood forum the community set up just got shredded by proboards. Check it out: http://flood.freeforums.net/

The Flood / What do you want out of this?
« on: July 27, 2014, 06:46:35 PM »
I think this is a pretty good way to kick off the pre-pre-release of the forums, so I'm asking you: What do you want out of this forum?

What kinds of different forums do you want? Are the ones we have enough? What about the sort of rules you want to abide by? We're not bound down by Proboards' own rules, so we could do pretty much anything.

Post here and let us know. I'm not saying everything will get added or updated -- this isn't anarchists anonymous -- but it's a damn good way to get your ideas heard.

Go!

Check it again. If it doesn't work, do a hard refresh. Let me know if it is still happening.

EDIT: You know what, I just checked your profile out and it may have been the test nameplate you selected. I'll look into this.
