Perhaps we can keep the torch burning by making private groups a thing on this site...
If I am ever able to quit my job I'd likely have the motivation to finish (ok, let's be honest... start) Septagon 3.0, which has private groups.
it’s ok when bungie axes Destiny then I guess that means you will have one less job
The addiction is real. You're absolutely right lol. I have a serious problem.
Cheat I would keep this site/site maintenance as a hobby.  I would not quit your job over it.
Nah I'm pretty burnt out. I'd be quitting my job to keep my sanity if I do decide to do it.

Literally anything. I don't have the motivation to do much of anything besides game, get high, and watch movies. Work kind of sucks the fun out of life.

I'll give you $20 for Sep7agon.
You don't want no part of this shit.
Is it bad?
More like annoying and time consuming.
Cheat be real man.  Why do you put yourself though keeping this place up/paying for it?
I'm probably autistic. I can't t think of a legit reason.

The Flood / Re: My mom is a Jehovah's witness
« on: November 20, 2023, 09:34:47 AM »
Did she get converted?
Yeah, I think she used to be a catholic. She became ill with Guillain-Barré syndrome and some Jehovah's  came to her rescue and helped her and by the end of it they convinced her to join them. That's the point of view that I've heard from my dad at least.
Wild. My parents had a couple move next door and try to convert them as well. They used to bring pamphlets over and they would chat and stuff. They were unsuccessful.

Is your mom happy at least?

The only thing I can think of is my 3DS. I modded it for loading Pokemon Rom hacks onto it and it's pretty old. The rest of my stuff is pretty new or at least "not old".

I'm never gonna stop advocating for a Septagon raid night if we can get 6 people down to run one. We can get drunk or stoned and make a time out of it.

We’ve got so many people here that we are kind of melting the servers
Funny since that genuinely happened to Sep7 on its old webhost and they kicked Cheat off the service because it was apparently so bad that all sites hosted by them went down and I guess they thought Sep7 was too much of a liability.

Although, it was surely a DDoS attack that caused it.
Keep in mind we had absolutely bonkers traffic and activity here at the height of the site. It could have just been legit traffic melting their servers.
TBH I don't really know. I just know they told me to get lost.

The Flood / Re: The last vestige of Bungie is going
« on: October 31, 2023, 11:12:11 AM »
Bungie just laid off a shit ton of staff including Michael Salvatori. Final Shape is delayed by 4 months and Marathon delayed to 2025.

It has never been more over.
Yep. I no-life this game and it's clear this is kinda the end. I expect the game will be on auto-pilot from here on out and they will start hemorrhaging players.

Super sad. Fuck those corporate pigs who make these kind of decisions.

Not to be a simp for it, but Among Us is cross play and has iOS / mobile support. I was able to play with PC people on my iPad.

Playing Halo would actually be quite fitting.
Destiny is fine too.

Amogus? I never played, is it easy to get into and start playing?
I've only played it once. It was a good drinking / stoner game and is perfect for just spending time with friends.

A reprised raid is dropping on September 1 for Destiny 2 that is free to play. Might be fun if we have 6. Otherwise if we have more than 6 then something like Halo MCC might be the way.

For lower end stuff, there's Among Us and cards against humanity.

kill the rich
Let's not be wasteful. I'm sure we can come up with some delicious recipes for cooking billionaires.

26
I mean, no.
What year do you think the leads on all of the Halo projects left Bungie?

All you have to do is look at the pictures of the staff from 2007 and compare to the most recent ones to see that yes, all of them left long ago.
I honestly don't care if the Halo Bungie is the same as the Destiny Bungie. I was more so responding and saying that the team running Destiny was legitimately putting in the effort and gave a shit. Season of Arrivals, Chosen, Opulence, etc. were all bangers. It's on life support now, but wasn't always.

27
Bungie hasn't even been Bungie for over a decade at this point.  Every talented person that ever worked there peaced out a long time ago.  They're the RareWare of the 00's.  A stranger wearing the skin of an old friend.
I mean, no. I actually really enjoyed Destiny 2. Their raids are some of the best experiences I've had in gaming and day-one contest mode raiding is incredibly fun.

They are definitely abandoning the game NOW, though, in favor of whatever else they have in the pipeline. It's clear they are siphoning the money D2 is making into whatever else they are making. It's definitely not going toward game stability, new maps, quality storytelling, etc.

28
Yeah it's real bad. It's painfully obvious they are pocketing most of the money D2 is generating from Eververse as well as the expansions to bankroll Marathon and whatever other stuff they are doing. I'm an addict so I'll stick with it at least until The Final Shape, but they are going to have to pull something out of their ass to keep me past that.

Gaming / Re: I'm playing Halo: CE for the first time
« on: June 08, 2023, 05:50:55 PM »

So yeah, big confession: while I know the story of the core Halo trilogy and all the tropes and characters and such, I never played Halo: CE or Halo 2 when I was a kid or ever (okay, I played a little Halo 2 on my friends' console iirc, but just multiplayer not campaign). So now that I have the Master Chief Collection and finally bought some more storage space, I figured I'd try to play the first two Halos.

I'm starting on CE and oh my god it is fun. I'm surprised at how fun it is for how dated it is. I'm playing MCC which means the anniversary edition, and still I can tell that the visuals and such look 2000s-esque, but the gameplay itself still holds up amazingly. I like fighting Elites instead of Brutes. I didn't play much of the Reach campaign like I did with Halo 3, so fighting Elites instead of Brutes is refreshing.

I'm currently on the third level, "The Truth and Reconciliation". Sniping area in the beginning was challenging (playing on Heroic) but still mainly a breeze. But once I boarded the spaceship while my health was low (no health packs to be found before boarding) things took a turn. I now understand the fear of death because of these insanely good invisible Elites. I can't get past the opening part. Best I can do is stand way back in one of those hallways that they spawn in with the sliding door at the front of the hallway, and every time the door opened and no one was there I knew to start shooting. That worked for one life but then they rushed me and got me while I was reloading. Do I have to go out and find something or just survive these waves of enemies?

I've watched some of these cutscenes before but not all of them. Excited to get the whole story start-to-finish.

Anyway, how have you been? What games have you been playing?
Destiny 2. Been grinding trying to solo flawless the new dungeon and it's just pure pain.

I thought it was just the last goodbye, and the site was being set down in the sunset.
Something something what is dead can't be killed etc. etc.
I thought you finally caved in to Deci and sold Sep7 to him
I should list it for auction lol. Do I hear $10?
Best I can do is $5. You gotta see it my way. I gotta get it framed and have it hang up in the shop. I don't know how long its going to sit there because not everyday you have someone walk into my shop asking for a website that looks like old Bungie.net.

*having sold Septagon to Jono for $5*

I feel I got a good price. I'm happy with the deal I got and the money is going to go a long way for my family.
