News / Choose Your Mods« on: July 28, 2014, 12:44:35 AM »
Ok, here are your top picks (selected from your thread and a few PMs I received), so vote away. The poll lasts for a day and you can change your vote as many times as you wish, but results will be hidden until it's over.
This is also not the be-all, end-all decision. I will strongly, strongly consider the top two choices as the next moderators, but at the end of the day I need trustworthy and reliable mods. I've also excluded top choices that haven't registered yet. If they aren't here, they can't moderate very well, I'd wager. Go forth and vote. 6275
Septagon / Re: Notifications« on: July 28, 2014, 12:02:11 AM »
I've made them last 20 seconds once they appear, but that's the best quick fix I can do until I get everything else covered. There's also a section in your profile that'll display all the threads you're being notified of.

The Flood / Re: What do you want out of this?« on: July 27, 2014, 10:21:30 PM »Sigs will stay where they are. That is not going to change. Also, signatures should be at the bottom of posts, and automatically seen. Like on the ProBoards site.I don't like that idea. It makes everything load super slow on my dental-floss Internet cables. 6281

Liking is on the way and notifications are halfway there (emails). Both'll be fixed soon.

Those are still kind of in the process of being fixed. They're still getting saved, but they are not reflected in the forum as of yet. That may change in the future. If not, the field will be removed.

I'll vet the top nominees first and if there's someone who is particularly an asshole or feels like the wrong fit, I'll pass them on. I do think it's important to have the members have a say on who polices them, though. 6295
The Flood / Re: Is this the forum Kiyo made?« on: July 27, 2014, 08:09:02 PM »No it's some guy named Cheat. To be honest, he doesn't have much of a reputation (in other words not many people have seen him around on B.old). He seems pretty competent though, the site looks amazing.I go by Cheatlancer everywhere but here (since Cheat's always taken). I've been a part of Bnet since...well, since Halo 3 was released. I never got famous but I was decently active. 6296

News / We need Mods« on: July 27, 2014, 08:04:30 PM »
I had no idea that this forum would be such a hit. I am mildly overwhelmed and am in need of some mods to keep the peace. I realize that we don't really have a formal 'rules' thread up yet, but that's next on my very long list.
Now, I wasn't really around much in the other offsite forum. I mostly lurked near the end of its life. But I do understand that there was some sort of horrible shit that went down with the mods and a few members. I don't give a shit about that. I care about the here and now and what goes on in this forum. So I think the fairest way to do this is to nominate members for mod status. Right now we only need about two of them, but that may change down the road. So please either comment here with someone's name or send me a PM. Later on tonight I'll set up a poll and you can vote on it. Is that cool with you guys? EDIT: nevermind, I just saw the thread that was created. Go here and nominate: http://sep7agon.net/index.php?topic=28.0 6298
The Flood / Re: What do you want out of this?« on: July 27, 2014, 07:47:24 PM »Should be pretty simple, actually. I'll put it on my list of things I need to do.I also think we should be able to like/dislike posts.This. This is the first new feature that Cheatlancer should work on. But no rush. It's a fucking hassle to code an entirely new website. I would offer to help, but I have no coding experience at all, haha It's responsive, so it'll adjust to whatever device you're using. Try it for yourself and shrink your window.I'd like it if the forum were bigger and didn't leave so much space on the sides.Eh, I disagree. The slimmer style is better for mobile. http://halo.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=55734448This will probably happen as well. 6299
