What kind of dad do/did you have?

Just thinking about how much I love my dad and how great he is, even though I don't show him the love all of the time

He came to the U.S at 13 being poor and speaking no english, goes on to become a doctor. Has always emphasized hard work to my brother and I, and has provided our family with anything we could ever ask for. He's very understanding and is heavily into self improvement(probably where i get it from). Gives me lots of books on success/mindfulness/psychology, and has learned 2 instruments in the last 3 years. He could squat 525 pounds at age 21 and has a neat collection of old muscle cars. Hope to be half the man he is

Mine was a great dad to me until he abandoned me my mom and brother. During my senior year right before I turned 18.

I used to have a story like yours I could be proud of. Now I just dont bring him up. I have so very little respect him.

I met him in person for the first time in probably over a year, a few weeks ago. I aspire to be different compared to him.

Sportive, caring, enthusiastic, and fun to go to the bar with. When I was younger he was rather stern though.

Though he tends to be quite good at scoring strange. Gotta say that I feel as though I disappoint him int hat category.

my dad's an asshole. he divorced my mom and married some ugly chick half his age (she is as old as my oldest sister). nasty fuck, hate him.

mom's a fucking champ though.
ex: i told her about SJWs calling 4chan the "cathedral of misogyny", she looks at me with a straight face and says, "well, everyone needs a place of worship".

He's a good person.
I'd be a jack ass to say otherwise.
He's American but moved to Canada when he was little. He had a super abusive step father that my grandma and her kids ran from.
He's actually pretty level headed though and I think he's come to terms with his past. I shouldn't say that because I can't really speak for him but he's a great dad.
He has his weird quirks that drive me up the wall but most dads are like that.

My father has been a very good benefactor over the years. Though I don't always agree with him and he can be a bit stubborn I still love the old man.

He became a hobo before succumbing to bipolar disorder and complications from diabetes. My family and his folks tried to get him to seek help but he didn't.

He was born in the poor farmer part of DR. I think he came to the US when he was in 17 or something. He loves seafood, and he's interested in birds. He exercises a lot, and he's really impatient and stubborn. It's not hard getting money from him, though. And he can eat a full plate of food in only a few minutes.

The kind with major anger issues, an inability to see how his actions impact other people, makes horrible financial decisions time and time again, the kind that would blame a divorce that wound up never happening on his child, and ultimately the kind that would kick you out if you disagree with his stance on morals and how people should be able to live their life freely.

To sum it up, he's a self absorbed dick who believes that no matter how fucked up his opinions are, his word is law and you better fucking deal with it.

A good one, I think.

He didn't do good choices early in his life leaving school at 16 and generally not giving a shit, doing various amounts of drugs and so-on. By his late 20's he decided to clean up his act so he went to a college, got a diploma and married my mother soon after.

When I can't turn to my mum about things relating to crazy psycho people (like one of my current roommates) or drugs, or that sort of thing, my Dad can give me good advice on it. He made sure I became a better person who made better choices than he did at his age. He's proud of what I've achieved so far and I respect him, even if he isn't the most educated person in the world (though he knows a damn bunch on politics).
