im taking ecology right now, and i have a project where i just have to snap photos of animals bugs plants etc and submit them to a website where other people identify them

i like to call it "pokemon go but in real life" cause it's like seeing if i can catch em all

it's actually really neat and like the first time ive actually enjoyed doing a project... it actually makes me wanna go out on a hike just to look for stuff, you know?

discuss things you enjoyed, much to your surprise!

I don't know if you wanted school themed stuff or not. I don't got none of that.

I was never a huge fan of cities or dense populations. I still don't like them, but I've mellowed out on how hardline my stance is. I kind of miss being an anonymous passerby. I could just put my headphones on, walk around and stop somewhere, talk to people, hear some interesting stuff, and then take my leave.

I also miss all night places. None of those in the countryside unless you want to deal with drunk hicks. Rather than being unable to sleep in the city and stewing myself to death at night in slow burning misery, I could just go out and have a coffee somewhere. Talk to the other late nighters, or the waitresses and waiters that got to know my face.

If you'd like a joke, I thought I wouldn't like continued living.

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
I was one of those "I listen to REAL music and not the garbage nowadays" retards. When it comes to music now, whatever sounds good to me I'll listen to it regardless of the genre. The only genre I refuse to listen to is reggaeton cause it's awful by default.

Iron Maiden will always be my favorite band no matter what but you can't listen to the same stuff forever you know.

that generally doesn't happen to me very often, to where it's genuinely difficult to think of great examples

what happens more often is for something i dislike to start growing on me after i give it enough tries

YouTube

similar to jono, i try to listen to all genres of music nowadays, because variety is the spice of life—in the not-so-distant past, you would never catch me listening to death metal or anything similar to it, but sure enough, i was eventually able to find some enjoyable death metal—but only after giving the album somewhere between 10-20 tries

even as someone who has a background of listening to loud and heavy music almost exclusively throughout my teen years, extreme metal genres can be very difficult to digest, but it can be done if you're patient and open-minded enough

Hey.
I came here from b.net after a few Floods invited me. None of them post on either b.net nor here anymore, which is sad. I was still active on b.net until for some bizarre reason, b.net admins locked out people who have not played Destiny. Even if you wanted to post on the offtopic section. After that, I fully moved here and have not returned to b.net since.
Please come play Halo with me.
GF asked me to watch this wedding show with her

I thought it would be all cringe but in the end it was actually entertaining. The producers don't focus too much on that 'Love Island' cheese and don't force drama.

Just message me.
I tried Outer Wilds recently and enjoyed every bit of it.
Closest game to Majora's Mask IMO.

The Travelers theme is rent free in my head and won't leave. The exploration was kind of what I wanted from Elite Dangerous.

I used to also dislike web development, but right now I dunno, not enjoying it in particular but I don't know if it's actually much worse from other comp sci fields.
