You clearly didn't give a fuck and posted the garbage that you still post today.

I actually miss Sandtrap. Dude was wise, he left me a lot of great advice, and on top of that we had a lot of great DMs back and forth in the early days.

He was a good guy, the world truly lost one of its best. Life really didn't treat him fair, and its incredibly fucked up with the hand he was dealt with.

I'm at least thankful that he joined Bungie and here, and got to know us.

If heaven is real I hope he's there looking down at us.

Name I haven't heard in a long few years. Kind of funny that this pops up on the sites feeds honestly. It's part of the reason why I signed onto this site. I was having a particularly bad night for nostalgia, thinking about friends of mine I've lost over the years. Sandtrap was one whom came to mind. I didn't know him for long, but he was a remarkable person when I crossed paths with him. I owe some of the problems sorted in my life due to him, which makes him so remarkable to me. He was able to untangle years of problems through a few conversations and observations, enough to draw me out to talk to him. He's one of the friends of mine whose graves I'm going to visit one day.

I still occasionally read the message he had his friend forward to me after his passing. I think he had one prepared for everybody he felt close to when the time was right.

That half finished message still hits hard to this day.

He sent one to me. When I received it, I wasn't in a great place emotionally, and was pretty closed-off. Because of that his message and the sentiment it conveyed didn't really sink it, or maybe I didn't let it sink in.

Nowadays I'm doing better, but that makes it more difficult to think about. It upsets me that I wasn't receptive to his message when I received it.

my last interaction with him was when i did my stupid april fool's joke where i posted a bait-and-switch dark souls review after pretending to beat it—the joke being that it was an in-depth minesweeper review instead

i got the reaction i expected for the most part, and it was fun times, but i guess ST was genuinely looking forward to my thoughts on the game after i hadn't posted about it in months, so his response seemed genuinely confused and sad

he passed before i could actually beat the game, and as silly as it sounds, i still feel guilt over that, even though it's just a video game

he thought good of me, and we exchanged PMs a lot—although i wasn't always the most receptive either, because i never really thought our conversations went anywhere

needless to say, his passing has made me rethink how i interact with people, and i consider him to be a positive influence on me

normally i'd be the last person to defend secondclass, but given how much i can relate to tactlessly injecting my personal beliefs where they don't necessarily belong, something compelled me to clear this up

all she's really trying to say here is "the fact that cancer can kill such good people is so cruel and so terrible that it's a wonder why we continue to bring more children into this world when they're all so very likely to have a similar fate"

she wasn't necessarily trying to be disrespectful; it was just a combination of very poor timing and very poor phrasing

so yeah secondclass is garbage and that post was bad, but not for the reasons you think
