Game has started!
Going back to the basics. Everyone starts out as a small nation, just learning the basics of iron weaponry. There's no set year, and unlike the last "primitive" UN game, no restrictions are placed on how fast you can advance, so long as you advance in a logical and realistic way. Time progresses at a speed of a year per 25 posts.

I call Germany, but the rest of the countries are up for grabs. You can choose your government type, economy, religion, etc. We'll start when we have an adequate amount of players. If you want to be a GM, just let me know!

It's a text-based game where you run a country, obviously. The first thing you do is choose your political system, state religion (if any), economy type, etc. Once the actual game starts, you're simply supposed to build your empire. The most obvious way is land. Annexing neutral territories is how your state grows, and annexation speed is dependent on how many soldiers you send to annex it, and how big the territory is. The most important way to grow, however, is researching technology. That's how you go from swords to bows to rifles, but it's not all just military technology. You can research anything you'd like, as long as it's realistic and logical, and as long as you do it in steps (researching muskets before rifles, for instance).

I'm not really good at explaining, so just browse this thread if you want a solid idea of how this works.

"Neutral" countries are just countries that no one is playing as...so I mean, I guess? Doesn't really make much sense, though.
