To have random offtopic discussions that have absolutely nothing to do with Destiny whatsoever, you clearly need firsthand knowledge of the game.

It's because they want to get rid of the people who don't want to follow them. Even if you're a lifelong Bungie fan they don't want anything to do with you.
They've slowly been weeding out non-Destiny players for like a year or so now. At first they stopped non-Destiny players posting in #Feedback and #Destiny. Then they locked everyone out of their account if they signed up using Facebook or Gmail, instead of XBL or PSN.
Now they've taken the final step to cut off non-Destiny players.
