This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
I'm not a fan of this policy, per se. That being said, there are two things which should be said in defence of it:

- The increases are incremental, allowing businesses time to accommodate the changes.
- They're slashing employer NI contributions, so labour costs don't explode.

I guess the incentive is to get people into work, what with the benefit slashes.

Huh, well that didn't actually seem as bad as I expected it to be.

Living wage stuff aside, that budget doesn't look too harsh considering what it could have been so it might do for the other parties to do something other than bitch about it in parliament for once, like a broken bloody record.

Of course this means that costs of living will increase to absorb the new decreed "living wage" so in five years after the law comes into full affect the retards will be clamouring for a new "living wage".

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
Should probably mention that it doesn't apply to you if you are under 25.

Sorta good and mostly bad, depending on how you see it.

+Encourages employers to hire younger workers where the minimum wage is still £6.60-ish
-Encourages employers to fire people in their late 20's because it's more expensive, or create a system of hiring at 18 and firing at 24.
-Higher minimum wage bracket for older ages means general inflation of prices, making the lower minimum wage worth less in spending power. Essentially the 18-24 year olds are going to get paid less. (Although Meta you probs have a better understanding of this than I do, so please chirp in here)

Makes sense, the government wants to try and increase the number of people in work-and higher wages provides a boost to the economy. Reasonable, although it won't help me, in 2020 i'll still only be 20
