In America there has seemed to be an ever growing presence of police-state like behaviors within our government.
The people have noticed and have begun flexing their rights.

There are tons of videos posted about how rights are being violated by police and how they stand up for their rights
because while educating yourself by knowing your constitutional rights you begin to see the violations law authorities make. In order to prove what was happening they began to video tape police while they were being pulled over.

There was a lot of controversy at first because of ignorance.
Some police didn't want to be filmed and tried to say it was not legal to film authorities,
we obviously know that it is completely legal to film police officers.

YouTube

Now I am not coming here just to state a known fact,
I want to share this video of a young boy (14) who stood up for his rights.
Sorry the video is a long one.
YouTube

...but here's a summary!
His parents are divorced, and his mother (who has custody) is abusive.
He finally has enough and tells his dad he wants to live with him.
When his dad brings the boy and his brother back to his mother and step-father's home the boy refuses to get out of the car.
The dad states that he can get out anytime he wants and that he was not forcing him to stay.
The mom calls the cops after going through a whirlwind of two-faced emotions.
She thinks that because she has custody of her son the cops will make her son get out of the car by force.
Well it backfires and the police take the boy's side and stand up for his rights.
The mom even said she wanted to press charges against her son because of an incident that happens where she refuses to remove her arm from the window because the boy didn't want to hear his mother belittling him.
Happy ending because the boy got to go home with the dad and the police go on to say that if she tried calling it in as a kid napping they would disregard her call.

How do you flex your rights?

That 'mother' makes my blood boil <_<

It pisses me off that judges are so happy to give custody to lying manipulative little shits simply because it's their mum. It was nice to see the police do the right thing though, Ms. Crocodile Tears can suck it.

>implying I have any rights living in the communist reich of Europe

But in all seriousness, I never had to do much flexing of my rights. Never met any police officer that was in any way trying to intimidate me or keep me down. All of them seemed like genuinely good cops and were extremely friendly to me.
European cops don't seem to have the same hard on for power that Americops do.

I would love to some day visit Europe and see for myself not only the social culture but how the police act. In America if you look suspicious you will be watched and most likely approached my police.

Okay, is there actually any evidence of this? She never raised her voice at him in the video, and all he's claiming is that they argue a lot, she slammed a door, and that she and her husband cornered him. The situation is messed up, but this just seems like pretty typical teenage stuff. I had similar behavior as a kid, and I'm sure many of you did too. Unless there's any evidence of abuse beyond some pissy 14-year-old, then I don't see any reason to label her as an abusive parent.

Good point. At the end the boy stated that his mother tried to trap him in his room while he went in to grab his school things, and he said that he had to shove her out of the way in self defense. Forcing someone against their will like that is a form of kidnapping (at least where I live).
Her emotional reactions allude to psychological abuse, so yes it was wrong of me to state child abuse was present without proof. I should not make accusations without evidence.
Thank you.

Can confirm American cops are nosy as fuck.

Just yesterday I was sitting in my car with my girlfriend at a local park, we met up to talk through some relationship issues. Not 15 minutes into our conversation a deputy shows up and demands ID. Tells us the park closes at dusk, even though it's not quite dusk yet, and demands we leave.

In that situation you do not have to show them your ID's because you were not being pulled over or detained. That officer was violating your rights. Sure he could of said "hey guys the park closes at dusk and if you're not gone by then I will have to ask you to leave"
