Depression in school/work

Have any of you experienced depression (or any sort of mental illness) during school/work that has seriously debilitated your ability to function?

I've been struggling with severe depression for the past 2 years, and because of it I've only complete 2 semesters of college. Up until this semester my grades have been decent, but now I feel as if I'm going to flunk all my courses     ⊙﹏⊙

The repetitiveness of school gives me anxiety but I soldier through because school improves my chances of a better future.

I had a three-year long depression strike which ruined my first college experience. Took some time to recover the basics, and I am still pulling things back together.

Yep, it's a fairly long story but I'll put the short version.

UK schooling goes like this High School (GCSE), Sixth Form (AS/A2 Levels) and then University (What you would call college). College for us is like a technical college, for apprenticeships and the like.

But yeah, so I finished High School with more GCSEs than fingers (About 17 in all) all at B-A-A* grades. I was basically set to do Sixth Form (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology) to then go into Medicine at University later.

Then to put it shortly, Depression/PTSD took a baseball bat to my knees and fucked up my A Levels big time. So after two years there, instead of finishing with some good A Level results and going off to medschool I've got one AS grade and a lot of bad memories.

It took the incompetent feckwits at the Mental Health Services 10 months to see me and get me treated but things are working out now, I'm just going down a different path instead.

I did this with sciences and must say it was good, new place no friends no way to fit in. Not that open and kind of not interested in the subjects. No interest no drive, failed and then just switched to a different school and must say feel alot better ever since.

I'd say I am depressed right now, but it's not as intense as the last time I had it. However, I've felt like shit for the past month or so.

Sometimes I manage to make myself feel motivated and like doing my work just to get through it, but like now, when I get home I feel like I can't do anything at all.

Not exactly depression but some kind of humbling sadness. Super lonely, and stressing over assignments isn't nearly as fun when people near and dear to you aren't making sarcastic jokes about it in the background.

I dunno, it should make me feel terrible but even though I'm sad, there's this kind of solace attached to it.

Yes, but it's not just limited to school and work. It's the whole fucking time your awake... and then subconsciously when you're asleep. Depression sucks.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
I wouldn't say I've ever been depressed. Melancholic maybe, bitter at other times.


For me I got 7A's in GCSE which is not super fantastic but it's better than good for most people. Then A Levels (specifically Physics...gah fuck the equations and laws you have to remember) kicked me in the shin and coupled with no enthusiasm to work, it just piled up and I fell behind. I ended up with 3 C's at A level and a D in AS, which frankly I've no idea how I got into my course on those grades.Not terrible, but I'm not exactly happy about them either.

I moved Junior year. I know absolutely no one, all I do is wake up, go to school, go home, listen to the latest fight.

Not depression, just empty. Waiting for something to happen.
