The Flood / Re: How have you changed since Sep7 began?
« on: May 21, 2021, 08:08:50 AM »
Not much has changed tbh. I hope I've become a more understanding and patient person but I'm not sure that's true. You guys caught me at the very tail end of a major depressive episode so you didn't get to see that much of who I used to be.

I've quit smoking and gained and lost 80 pounds in the last five or so years but that's about as big as my physical changes get.

Just slowly improving as I go along, small changes that will hopefully improve my life and the lives of those I care for.

Also, post nut clarity is just that, clarity. What you two are describing is post nut depression
there is LITERALLY no difference (if you're an intelligent person)

Lmao imagine wanting to be depressed and ashamed of your body and desires.

You gotta lighten up verb.

If you're not feeling post nut clarity something is wrong.
I still dont understand what this clarity is or is supposed to be
It's apparently more noticeable for people who get addicted to porn and end up watching more extreme/odd content to fit the bill. The clarity part hits and makes people suddenly feel disgusted with what they just watched, or shows up in some other form such as depression coming back to fill the void from the high of masturbation.
personally, i've cut down to watching porn maybe once a month, and what i watch is extremely vanilla by internet standards, and i still get "post-nut clarity"

there's actually a much older french term for the phenomenon: la petite mort, which literally translates to "a little death"—it's like the brain is distressed that it allowed itself to be overcome by carnal desire once again

the fact that casper doesn't understand it also leads me to think the phenomenon may be linked with intelligence

Gunna tag in to say that's not what la petite mort actually means and it's more akin to how tired you feel post nut, not how ashamed you are of the nutting material.

Also, post nut clarity is just that, clarity. What you two are describing is post nut depression and you should seek help to work through whatever is up with you.

I don't know how, but I seem to have contracted athlete's foot while working at home for a year and living alone since October.

HOW?! I either have some dirty house troll wearing my shoes/socks or I picked it up in some Airbnb in December and it took this long to show symptoms.

Wash your feet lmao

I was very happy to see Luke. The CGI stuff didn't even clock in my head.

I found it extraordinarily distracting, really wish they would stop with the cgi and just pay a lookalike.

Intel? In 2O2O?
I'm looking at a 3900x myself right now, but stock is low everywhere.

Don't worry
According to the techtubers with like half the world's stock, supply will normalize
I'm sure it will, but I'd like to buy it before the end of the year for tax purposes lol

Tax write off?
Playing Cyberpunk on ultra a part of your job?

I wish. The money isn't strictly speaking my own, it's the company's assets. I can't just use it for whatever.

And don't forget that you're the one who started it all. I still have a screenshot somewhere of the first 30 cents I made with this being you cheering some bits in my channel when I got affiliate. Good times. How have you been?

Pretty good all things considered, things good on your end?

Yeah man, it's been a while. Life's just been busy. How have you been?

And yep, it's mainly for streaming. My channel picked up a fair bit and I got partnered on Twitch some time ago. I've also been picked up by Bethesda to do analysis and casting for esports titles like Quake, which is mainly why I'm looking to upgrade. If I'm going to be doing more professional commentary and such in the future, I feel like having better equipment than my current budget USB mic would help.

The SM7B seems to be the industry standard and has been recommended by a few people, so it seems like a safe choice. Just quite pricey, unfortunately. Especially with all the extra costs. $400 for the mic itself is only the beginning since you also need a solid pre-amp and mixer to make the most out of it, which could easily almost double the cost. Looking at Cloudlifter / Fethead / Dynamite pre-amp and a Scarlett Focusrite or Presonus 24c mixer for now.

Budget isn't really an issue, although it obviously does matter. I founded a .ltd company for esports casting and have been making some good money with it. That's part of the reason why I'm looking to spend some more now. I had a lot of revenue this year but pretty much no costs, which means that I'm paying a fair bit in corporate tax. Incurring some expenses would be a good strategy, so I'm really just looking to buy some things before the end of the year.

It just sucks that so much cool stuff is currently unavailable due to a lack of stock. Things like an RTX 3080, AMD 3900x, PS5 and Xbox series X would make for some good purchases but are pretty much out of stock everywhere.

Flee is the 1%

We don't really do gifts in my family.

Is it weird you're going to be responsible for some of your mom's orgasms?

Well I'm already responsible for all your mom's orgasms so
Nice

I got it and didn't die, you'd likely have to suffer like the rest of us.

Pretty impressive stuff from Biden even if he did have a couple of brain farts, i.e. the "poor boys" mishap.

He out flanked Trump on all the populist issues and made him look like the elitist rather than the outsider.

Calling it now. The Trump trains over. The 2016 magic just isn't there anymore. He's gone from the renegade populist that could bring back jobs to just another wall street crony. Who honestly gives a fuck about the stock market unless you're in the top 10%? Rust belt voters certainly don't.

Unfortunately I don't think you're quite right. Trump supporters are so used to making excuses for him that I doubt they could be swayed.

If the shit I hear at work is any indication anyways.

I got a blackout curtain for my window and I now have two fans at full blast in the room. Temperature is a little more manageable but then again it rained a lot today so the sun wasn't out a lot to raise the temp anyways.

Bruh, you need airflow. Open them windows and get a breeze going.

« on: May 06, 2020, 08:13:54 AM »
Got mine about a week ago, haven't done anything with it yet. Chances are that it'll mostly go to rent.
I have been thinking about building a new PC though.

Are PC components super expensive since the factories shut down
Honestly I haven't really looked into prices recently. Not since jan/feb-ish. But I'm looking at building a machine that can do GPU passthrough so I can primarily use linux but run a Win10 vm as though it were running natively. I like the idea better than dual booting, anyway.
i would try to wait until the factories are back up and running because new GPUs are going to come out that will, thanks to the new consoles, have significantly better price-to-performance over what's out now
It's not exactly something I'm in a rush to do anyway.

Spoiler
I'm currently distracted with an assortment of old e-waste PCs I'm trying to come up with uses for that I was just recently given. One of them's a server that belonged to a business that got flooded so that's more just a project for tinkering and learning's sake. It's possible that only the motherboard needs replacing, looking at the water line, but there's no way to know for sure. Cool machine though, even though I'm not expecting any miracles from it.

Two others are just regular business computers, one I was going to turn into a home media / game emulator / local minecraft server for my roommate and I, and the other probably just a productivity machine. I was also given a 1st gen intel "compute stick" that supposedly overheats like a bitch but I'm probably just going to mess around for the novelty of it. Probably just experiment with lightweight distros. Don't really see much use for it besides that.

Laptops- one's my main computer, one's a chromebook that I put Gallium OS on for college, one I have LTSC on that I pretty much just use for torrenting... and the last one is a Pinebook that isn't really getting used for anything right now. My main laptop is the most current piece of hardware but then it's still a 2015 model gaymer laptop, and I'm struggling with storage space and general inability to upgrade. So it'll be nice to go back to a proper modern desktop, but I'm mostly going to have to start from scratch.
can you please take my e waste? sitting on 2 dirty and neglected inkjets, a 5.1 sound system, macbook pro, lenovo, toshiba (do they even make laptops anymore?), an asus, and a dell netbook, and a dell all in one

already got rid of 3 towers before corona; one was a server

Bruh, send that 5.1 this way
