The Flood / Lol, it's going to cost 700 dollars to renew my registration
« on: February 15, 2019, 03:28:27 PM »
700 that I really don't have. Even if I still had my old truck, that would have been 400 to renew.

I fucking hate California.

The Flood / It's breaking my heart
« on: February 06, 2019, 03:35:13 PM »
I've been really hurting for money and struggling to find a job to make ends meet. So, I have to sell my old pickup truck. Assuming all goes right, today will be the last day I ever see it. It hurts to think about and I have no clue how I am going to fare when I wake up tomorrow and I don't see it anymore. This hurts worse than every breakup I've gone through. It's like losing an old friend more than anything.

How do you deal with these feels?

The Flood / I also nearly died
« on: February 04, 2019, 04:46:42 PM »
I really had to take a dump, but it was storming. Things were calming down so I decided that I had enough holding it. So I sat down to do my business in the process In the short time I was on the shitter there were three lighting strikes in close proximity. My lights flickered and the thunder roared. I nearly got struck by lightning through my loo.

It's a truly terrifying experience.

The Flood / Any of you guys keep a Journal?
« on: January 02, 2019, 10:37:52 PM »
I've finally decided to keep a journal. I'm not doing daily entries but I'm also not doing much besides sitting at home right now. Oddly enough Red Dead Redemption 2 kinda inspired me to write occasional things down. Kinda liked the idea of having record beyond just memory alone.

Any of y'all keep a journal?

The Flood / Another year down, another bottle of whiskey to lament over
« on: December 28, 2018, 11:25:01 AM »
and I can't even post on Bungie.net about the glory days of bungie.old because I didn't by Desti-shit 2. How will they ever know the greatest story no one ever wanted to hear about a bowl of Cheerios? How will they ever find out about the emotional rollercoaster that was the banning of Souljaboy?

The current state of Bungie.net makes me sick. Zoomers playing their Borderlands MMO wannabe forgetting what made the site great. It wasn't Halo, it wasn't Bungie. It was the glorious Flood. A place to shit post and troll to your hearts content. But now it's all gone, never to be remembered by anyone but us bungie.old boomers. But not even the biggest sip will cease this pain.

Nevermore.

The Flood / Well, I want a CCWL now more than ever.
« on: December 03, 2015, 10:30:24 AM »
But the price of my right to defend my self:
Mandatory training class
120 dollar 'fee' to the country Sheriff
4-6 month wait.

At least my Sheriff issues on Self Defense grounds. But I think after yesterday, they may be a bit swamped by applications.

I have another issue I've run into. It's against Company policy to have a gun on the property. But the property is in a shady as fuck part of town next to the Maximum Security Prison that LA county sends their inmates to. Plus the town that it's in is a little more than rough. I don't think any of m coworkers would care, in fact most of them are unbelievably progun and some of us have gone shooting together before. Honestly, we have a lot of talk about our next purchases in the office. Which is kind of cool. I digress. If someone from corporate comes along and saw me carrying, I'd be fucked.

At the same time, I am searching hard for a place out of state. I hope to do it sometime next year, not sure when.

So, what should I do? Should I go ahead and get my CCWL? Should I not take it when I have work in a rough part of town? Should I just wait till I get out of state to a place where I may have constitutional carry?

The Flood / I've been finding my self looking at houses lately.
« on: November 20, 2015, 12:16:25 PM »
Smaller places outside of California. Sub 250,000 dollar homes. I am a little torn though, Should I get a larger house, like 1500 square feet and have a mortgage? Or Should I live on a very tight budget for a few years saving my money so I can buy a small maybe modular home or cabin outright to fix up and sell for profit down the road?

One builds credit, the other builds assets.

Of course, it won't be for a while now. Need to get the ability to move first.

Oh another note, anyone down for being roomies? That'd be pretty fly.

Seriously, why the fuck even live?

You'll never engage Taliban fighters from your helicopter, with a rifle, while flying the helicopter
You'll never partake in a rebel yell as you blast Taliban positions while blasting War Pigs
You'll never toss a WP grenade on a Taliban position from 10 feet above it

What the fuck is even the point anymore?

The Flood / Beer!
« on: November 15, 2015, 04:31:43 PM »
So I picked something up at Bevmo. You know, it's actually a pretty good beer, and I don't really like Beer. Had to get a couple of Pint Glasses with it though. Beats the hell out of those light beers I have tried.

Any other beers that would be similar to this that I may like? At 5 bucks a pint, it's a little pricy, and Bevmo is a bit of a drive for me.

The Flood / Need some advice
« on: November 07, 2015, 01:05:26 AM »
Okay, I am on the verge of ordering a bunch of parts for my first from 'scratch' PC build from newegg. In total, the build is going to be just shy of 900 dollars. Coincidentally, that is what I paid for my Levergun. I digress.

What is holding me back is the either saving for a while and running the risk of parts going out of stock. But I have another option. Newegg offers a 'credit card' with 0% interest if paid off in the first 12 months. But, if I don't the interest from those 12 months would have accrued into one giant lump. Now, I am in no way worried that I could fail to pay it off. I could pay it off in two months, two and a half at the most. But I am still hesitant, and I have no clue why.

What do you guys think? Should I just go ahead with the financing? I mean, it'll also help build my credit.

Urgh, I don't know.

There's little demons and monsters all over the fucking place. They're all carrying sacks and going door to door while walking in groups. I don't know what to do! Gods, is this the end times? God, I hope they don't come to my house. If they do, I'll be ready.

Edit 1:

GOD DAMMIT, ONE GROUP CAME TO MY DOOR YELLING, "TRICK OR TREAT." I GAVE THEM A TREAT ALL RIGHT, 45-70 TO CENTER MASS. THE REST RAN OFF SCREAMING. I guess even demons fear the Govt.

Edit 2:
Police are on their way. I'll have this settled soon. They'll help me clear this shit out. The demon brood mothers are screaming at my door though. I think another 45-70 should clear that up.

Be back soon guys, I have shit to clear up

The Flood / Why don't you have a pickup truck?
« on: October 26, 2015, 11:42:18 PM »
Not even just a Ford, or a Chevy, or a Ram. Any pickup truck. What is your excuse for not having one of the most useful vehicles to ever exist?

Even a shitty Toyota pickup would suffice as long as you have bed space to actually haul shit around with.

Scenario time:

A lady you admire is moving to a new location. She asked for your help for the move. In the end you may profit out of this endeavor if you play your cards right. One of the thing she is planning on moving is her dresser but you only have a Prius or a Smart car or what ever kind of car you faggot metrosexuals drive nowadays. It literally can't fit in your sissy clown car because all you can think about is, "MUH CITY LIVING"

That's when I roll up in my 91 Dodge Ram and offer to help. Mention I haul shit all the time, have tie down straps, and I can carry a lot of material. She thanks me for my help, I load her stuff up in my truck, and proceed to help her move. In the end I get the girl and you get nothing.

So, Why don't you have a least some form of Pickup Truck? Aren't you a real man?

The Flood / Something fishy is going on
« on: October 22, 2015, 10:46:13 AM »
I opened my safe thus morning to check things out. I like to do that to check on my investments.

Well, when i opened the door, i noticed that my little .17hmr rifle moved. It moved away from my 45-70 lever gun. I think it was leaning on the 45-70.

Here is the problem, she's a .17 and he's a .45. It's wrong and i don't know what to do. I could talk to them, but what good is that? What's more, the 30-30 is going to get jealous. That have similar actions. Mixing a bolt Acton and lever action is wrong. Not to mention how far apart they are, caliber wise

What should i do?

The Flood / What is keeping you where you are?
« on: October 21, 2015, 10:01:34 PM »
What ties bind you to your current situation? Do you have family that you can't leave? Commitments? Maybe school? Could you get up and leave it all behind in pursuit of something new? Could you forge your own path to fortune?

There are days that my mind drifts to areas I really don't want to remember. Broken promises and crushed dreams. When I start drifting into that train of though I start looking at the map and throw on some blues to sooth my mind, or does it enhance my melancholy?

Regardless, I start looking at the map and the desire to ramble hits hard. It grips my psyche and damn near demands that I give up and move on down the line. But my commitments bind me where I am for the time being, so my melancholy drifts into even more melancholy. I start listening to more sad blues and southern rock and the dreams of a new place and a different life start to grasp even harder.

Does anyone get this way? It's a bit of a curse of mine, and I guess it would be comforting to know I'm not alone.

Also, here is some medicine, or poison. Depends on how you look at it.

The Flood / Dream I had last night.
« on: October 21, 2015, 05:29:19 PM »
There were dinosaurs causing havoc in my town. People were being attacked and what not. I went full on British safari hunter. Like "Come on Mbelle, let us retire to the lodge and prepare the rifles."

On the way back a transfers Tyranasaur started chasing me. I made it into the house before it got to me. This was excellent because of my new 45-70. I ran excitedly to my safe as the trex ambled around the area. But when I got to my safe I couldn't remember my combination. 4th try and I was locked out. All I felt was immense sadness. I got cock blocked from a trex trophy by my safe.

Just thought I'd let you guys know

The Flood / Should I go to Big Sandy this weekend?
« on: October 18, 2015, 11:38:26 PM »
I've been really wanting to go to the Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot for a few years now. I mean, come on, Machine guns, explosions, tanks? What's not to love?

It's this weekend and I just found out yesterday that it is THIS weekend. So here I am sitting on the fence. Pay 45 dollars a night for a shitty motel about an hour away to go and experience something that not a whole lot of people outside of the military get to experience. But at the same time, it's such short notice and they do hold them twice a year. The next one will be in Spring sometime.

Now to my finances. I don't have a whole lot of money saved up yet. 90 bucks for 2 nights isn't bad, but I'll need food and fuel too. Not to mention it's 25 dollars to get in, plus more if I want to rent a machine gun. But I could come back with amazing photos, and there is also a night shoot where everyone is running tracers. I figure that a long exposure of that would be phenomenal.

So what do you guys think?
