I don't really go on new forums anymore. Discord has replaced 90% of that.
Discord truly was the last nail in the coffin to 00's forum culture.

Reddit was the first.

Glad I was around for the tail end of it, at least.

The Flood / Re: How have you changed since Sep7 began?

Honestly, the main things that’ve changed about me since this all started are my music taste, my degree, and the prescription I get from my psychiatrist.

Green Room is one of my favourite films from the last decade.

Blue Ruin is also very good.

I’ve been meaning to watch that for a while.

I would honestly postpone any ultimate decision on the matter until the plague is less of a concern, in the meantime, continue to think about it over time.

see if i can't finish my novel by the end of august
What’s it about?
the modern struggle for small town introverts to integrate themselves into the world, as well as to connect with the people who inhabit it, through the lens of a person whose life experiences are suspiciously similar to my own, but dramatized, fabricated, and embellished in such a way that (i hope) would be classified more as an entirely fictional story with a message and a point, rather than an autobiography which has none

heavily inspired by interactions i've had during my commute with people on the bus, with the basic themes having been conceived all the way back towards the end of middle school (the story itself has evolved a lot since then)

also draws heavy inspiration from the works of salinger, camus, palahniuk, keyes, and of course schopenhauer

Nothing wrong with drawing from your own experiences, only problem with it is that it can result in a rather limited scope in later works, but that's a problem for down the line. My only suggestion is don't use the word introvert, everyone thinks they're one nowadays, regardless of whether or not they are one.

Worshipped it as a kid played through it again when it came out on Steam. I didn’t feel it aged well.

The Flood / Re: why does this forum hate me?
« on: May 15, 2018, 12:24:39 AM »
the fact that people only ever seem to get this introspective when they're drunk or high is super fucking depressing to me

I can’t speak for others, but I’m often introspective, it’s just that it’s only when I’m inebriated that I bother to give voice to it.

I don't think I have the patience to watch all this shit again. The main draw for me inititally was actually, all these distinct people on the forums, but that interest disappeared years ago.
