Some of the shit I see feminists pull makes me really sympathize with MRAs sometimes. I would never consider myself either, but one side is blatantly displaying more reprehensible behaviour than the other.

I like how I get a severe warning for posting a Planet Of The Apes gif as a joke yet this thread goes unpunished.

ODST is an artistic masterpiece.

I also kinda agree with Sprungli on CE as well. I'm sure it was groundbreaking at the time, but it just doesn't hold up technologically in comparison to today's standards. The level design is awful and it feels like an absolute chore to grind through.

« on: November 26, 2014, 11:04:55 AM »
I honestly think the majority of the blame lies on behalf of the media by depicting the false narrative of Michael Brown being an innocent little angel child.

I'm just going to share this - there are riots and "civil unrest" when a sports team wins/loses a championship game, when Joe Paterno was fired, and even at random festivals.

Those protests turn violent, with destruction of businesses and looting, yet there is nowhere near the outrage that has come with the protests here.

I'm just curious as to why that is? Is civil unrest when your sports team wins better than a questionable grand jury decision?
I'm not sure what you're getting at. Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me?

Heard its one big rehashed glitch fest. Would probably avoid.

Yeah, but don't expect stellar multiplayer.

Just picked it up today can't really make a judgement on it. Seems alright thus far.

Yeah, but the ending and boss battles are absolutely abysmal. Solid game overall though.

I also recommend GTA V on next gen. First person mode is a blast.

Serious / Should the constitution come before the democratic verdict?
« on: November 25, 2014, 11:28:42 AM »
This question pertains more to the US, so apologies if I'm speaking from inexperience and misinformation as a bong.

Let's say hypothetically speaking, that 99% of the population of the US wanted a well regulated, monitored accessibility to firearms. This means thorough background checks and an outright ban on mentally incapable individuals. Would the constitution override this democratic desire, or would the voice of the people override the constitution?

Ugh, I don't want to sound like PSU here, but why does society automatically assume it was a racially motivated attack when a black kid/teen gets killed by an authoritative figure, or anyone in general? They almost universally never consider the nuances involved, and just go straight to appeal to emotions without giving a cursory glance at the evidence.

I'd be the last to advocate racial tension, but I just can't understand the double standard being espoused by most of the media and society.

Yeah I'm getting real tired of these emotional, hyped, opinionated cases. The media seriously impedes the justice system when it goes overboard like it did here. They basically spread the fear of riot, so what's going to happen? Riot. Then once the court makes a verdict, it's always what people should expect, and it's always the opposite of what people want. Rinse repeat until these news stations are paid.

The Federation is a conglomeration of advanced technological and militaristic species. The UNSC is basically the 90s military in space.

I wonder.

Get FC4 and a buddy to play it with. The single player may not be as spectacular as FC3's was (although it's still good in and of itself) but co-op is like playing an interactive real time movie. I'm having so much fun with this American dude I met online, fucking shit up and elephant riding.

Shadow Of Mordor was fun, especially the nemesis system, but there are some seriously awful design flaws that take it down a peg or two. Namely the ending. One of the worst, if not the worst game endings I've ever had the displeasure of playing, as well as its boss battle. Keep it in mind when you complete it. Other than that, the game is solid.

GTA V is basically the same as previous gen was. The only thing that keeps it fresh is the first person mode, which is legitimately fun (especially fucking prostitutes). Saying that, GTA V never amazed me like it did with everyone else on pre-gen, so I'm probably being slightly biased on this one.

Gonna pick up DA: Inquisition tomorrow. Never played a DA game before, so this could be the one that hooks me on the series judging from the gameplay I've seen.

But yeah, all in all, get FC4 if you want one of the best co-op experiences of your life, get SoM for a solid-ish game, and GTA V if you enjoyed GTA V on pre-gen.

Props to the guy for staying neutral for this long given the amount of shit slinging anti GG has directed at him. Don't know if I could still remain nonpartisan if I was in that position.

- I am a Eugenicist to some extent.

- Feminism is a seriously institutionally detrimental movement to not just men, but IMO, women too.

- As much as I admire the idea of human colonization of other planets, I just don't see it being economically or practically feasible, at least in this millennia. We should be pouring our resources and efforts into eliminating climate change, acquiring food sources and becoming a tier 1 civilization.

- I think the NHS should be privatized to an extent. I know this isn't a controversial opinion on this forum, but say that shit in the UK (especially Scotland) and you'll get practically lynched for it.

- The gender wage gap does not exist.

Honestly prefer the prequels of the sequels. Biggest reason was the combat, especially lightsaber duels, were far more entertaining and adrenaline rushing

« on: November 23, 2014, 05:24:58 PM »
Basically a whore slept with a bunch of dudes, then her boyfriend posted an article about it subsequently resulting in mass collusion amongst the gaming press to literally denounce gamers and label their identity as gamer as "dead". #NotYourShield starts up and is consistently silenced and ignored by the gaming press.

Harassment was relevant for about two weeks before the gaming press decided to pull their little stunt. At this point everything Gamergate has stood for is journalistic integrity and ethics. No one has yet to prove any causal link between Gamergate and harassment. All abuse we've seen have originated from rogue twitter accounts and trolls. The people trying to sell you this crop of bullshit just want to propagandize and push their disingenuous victim narrative for women.
