The Flood / Re: So considering Marvel is now in charge of Spider-Man.
« on: February 16, 2015, 05:36:55 PM »
They're not "in charge" of Spider-Man. Sony still holds the reins. Marvel struck a deal with Sony to use him in the MCU but only if Sony can still make his standalone movies. I doubt they'll have much creative control outwith The Avengers.
Kevin Feige will be producing the stand alone Spidey movies with Amy Pascal.  The whole reason Sony struck the deal was for easy money and help bring Spidey movies up to par.  They obviously need help so they'll most likely follow what he says.
Yeah, but the point being that Sony still have authoritative control of the content being produced at the end of the day. Marvel will have little to no impact on the actual production of the films besides the occasional interjection of suggestions.

oh yeah and Howland Reed should objectively be at the top of the list

Lol

Getting buttfucked by a bunch of northern peasants and a swamp hick is exactly why Dayne (and the rest of the Kingsguard that were present) is at the bottom of the list.

Daemon or Dragonknight.

But I think it should be noted that there isn't really a "best" in ASOIAF. Selmy even says that there's no warrior without peer. Most people would say Jorah =/= Selmy in terms of skill, but Jorah could still win if the circumstances were right.
Yeah "circumstances" being the key word there. It was "circumstances" that allowed Brienne to defeat Jaime but that doesn't put her anywhere near Jaime's tier when the extraneous variables are eliminated.

In terms of enjoyability, no.

Also [REC] is a zombie movie lol.
I never said Zombie movies can't be horror movies, but there's a pretty big difference between 28DL and [REC]
Please elaborate, because I'm really struggling with your angle on this. What is it about 28 Days that disqualifies it as a horror movie? It already adheres to the horror movie checklist, i.e. terror, isolation, loss of life, mutilation, gore etc so your argument really just boils down to "it's not a horror movie because I say so."

28 Days Later
I'd hardly call that a horror movie

28 Days Later is a 2002 British post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle
Labelling it under the Horror genre doesn't necessarily mean it's really a horror movie.
Would you consider 28 Weeks Later a horror movie? Because I certainly wouldn't.
What exactly is your criteria for horror movies then?

Genres aren't exactly subjective.
Stuff like [REC].

I'd hardly call a zombie flick (a great one at that) a horror movie.
It can be labelled a Spaghetti Western for all I care, but that wouldn't make it one.

The Resident Evil movies are categorized as Horror movies too, and well... they just flat out aren't.
Zombie films can be a sub category of horror sure, but they still ultimately are, at their core, horror.

You still haven't really answered my question either.

Also [REC] is a zombie movie lol.

What exactly is subversive or dangerous about their speech?

I mean, I get why it is permissable to remove some of their liberties via sanctions due to the possibility of physical threats, but I don't see how their speech could be significantly malicious.
Look at our government and tell me why their speech isn't dangerous
What about your government?

What has that got to do with anything?

Whiskey. And Strongbow.

Not together, like.

Separately.

That whiskey better be a 10 year plus Aberlour to compensate.

The silence is deafening.
I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I can't say I'm surprised. You have a tendency to post the same or similar threads with a lot of economic/political jargon which can put off a lot of users, including myself.

Just a little friendly advice from one user to another.
That's not even what I mean. It feels like the entire board is a bit dead, recently.
My laptop sperged on me last week so that's why I'm not posting as much.

Dunno about everyone else.

But you have a seriously fucked up crime and gang culture.
I think that's more of an issue with certain cities and not the entire state as a whole.
Also I think you're thinking of Florida.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States_by_state
Well, your gun deaths per capita are the highest in the country, by far.

I'm not even saying that's as a result of gun control,  obviously there are other nuances involved, but you're talking out your ass if you don't think Cali is one of, if not the most fucked up state in the country in regards to criminality.
