>kill the one who raised them and they all die

zzz

Not to mention that this wasn't shown at Hardhome at all.
>"He must have been the one that raised them"

The fuck? Since when was it established canon that wights have specific symbiotic relationships? They're literally contradicting themselves at this point just so they can get an ebic 1v1 between Jon and the Night King.

The Flood / Re: Has Rick and Morty always been this bad?
« on: August 22, 2017, 04:27:10 AM »
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

I'm not sure why people are surprised at the show's pacing at this point. They pretty much telegraphed it a mile away when they announced the episode cap.

Just buck up and enjoy the memery lads. We'll get the actual story in 2032 assuming the butter golem doesn't die of fat before then.

There genuinely can't be a worse character than Dany at this point.

>Witnesses multiple magical events in her lifetime including being involved in one
>Owns the magical equivalent of nukes in this world
>Refuses to believe in MAGICAL ice demons despite the growing evidence and the fact that an entire kingdom to the north is utilising precious resources to defend themselves
>Proceeds to do exactly what Joffrey would do after losing a couple battles
>Nearly loses her fucking winning ticket to the war just so she can immolate a couple of tired Lannister brigades

YAAAS KELLY C SLAYYY

idk why people get worked up about them. All they do is autistically sabre rattle. Worst comes to worst they attack Alaska or any other sovereign nation within their shit tier nuclear proximity and they get butt rammed by every other militarily relevant country in the world sans maybe China.

The only people that really lose out are, ironically enough, the people of NK, which is a shame, because their demise will be at the behest of a mental buttergolem.

"You know, Peter, with great power comes great responsibility. Rudyard Kipling called it "White Man's Burden." Myself, I just call it as I see it: the responsibility of the master to discipline the servant." Ben looks directly at the camera.

"The niggers, the spics, the chinks...It's our responsibility to civilize them. And if we can't? Then they shall dangle from the elm tree. The Day of the Rope is near, Pete. We'll have every nigger in this country dead or in chains in 10 years, and may God have me shot by some carjacking quadroon this very night if I'm wrong. God bless the American Nazi Party."

Damn, Raimi was such a madman, that would never go well with today's audience. Homecoming has a lot to live up to.

The more I think about how Olenna Tyrell and her army got dealt with in such a quick and easy way, the dumber this whole show seems to me. "Fighting never was our forte". So how were they ever valued as a military ally in the previous seasons if they could just be destroyed using zero effort. Despite the fact that Jaime had to siege one of the major castles in the show, he still manages to get it done immediately and presumably without any loss to his army. It seems like the sizes of everyone's armies are being left intentionally vague and undefined so that stuff like this can keep happening regardless of logic. Cersei is just going to keep implausibly gaining the upper hand to increase the "drama", until Daenerys inevitably wins in the end despite all odds.
I figured the main bulk of the Tyrell's were with Dany on Dragonstone at the time. They could've literally just said that and I wouldn't have had a problem with it, but for some reason DABID had to go with "the Tyrell's are essentially just pussies lmao".

Even then, there's no rationality behind taking a fortified castle in a day, army or no army. I can buy the whole "learning from our mistakes with Robb Stark" tactical move but storming a castle within the space of a couple scene transitions just reeks of bullshittery.

BUT THERE'S ONLY SO MANY EPISODES LEFT JUST DONT THINK ABOUT IT

Not really that much of le gamer any more so if it keeps me entertained for longer than a couple weeks then I've got my money's worth.

Movies are another story because I enjoy them for a variety of different reasons. I enjoy meticulously crafted films just as I enjoy movies designed for pure entertainment purposes if done with a modicum of thought put behind them. A lot of people seem to put themes above enjoyment value but if the movie is just becomes one giant pedestal for the director's opinions then the actual film making takes a backseat and detracts from the overall experience. To me, a good film knows when to equipoise it's material with entertainment value.
do you have a favorite director
It's a tie between Danny Boyle and Scorsese.
What do you think about Brian De Palma?
I liked Untouchables and Carlito's Way but I'm honestly not that familiar with his work.

Tbh, don't even blame the tories for this. They're only doing it to pander to the schoolgate "I'd like to speak to your manager" mums who can't be arsed to actually parent and put up parental blocks. A more productive piece of legislation would be to prevent these goons from getting access to Prosecco.

Best episode of the series so far imo. No cringeworthy memery and barely any filler. Bad poosies got what they deserved with more Thot patrol ironborn highlights. I'm warming up to Euron despite how he's nothing like the book iteration, but I guess they're doing a kind of victarion/Euron hybrid which is actually fairly respectable.

My only issue is Casterly Rock. It looked fucking drab. I get that it's technically winter but the architecture just looked...awkward? Idk, guess I was expecting something more lavish considering it's the seat of the most powerful house in Westeros.

7.5/10
