Might I remind you of Destiny, Watch Dogs, AC Unity, The failure of a launch that was BF4, The Elder Scrolls Online, Duck Dynasty and Titanfall.

Literally the only 9/10 game to come out of 2014 was DA: Inquisition, and its only 9/10 because of the single player.

Channel 4 was also trying their luck by pandering to the lefties with UKIP: 100 Days as well. Blatant, unapologetic propaganda.

Purposefully misleading players during gaming conferences such as E3 and Pax.

Aliens Colonial Marines, Watch Dogs and Destiny were notorious for this. The only game I can recall that actually lived up to its expectations and marketing was The Last Of Us.

So the fact that we have idiots means we should punish every single person in a state by revoking disaster preparedness funds? Really.

If anything it'll cost more in the long-run; FEMA is still obligated to supply relief.
If you have an alternative solution for dealing with idiots then we're all ears.

The fact of the matter is they're in positions of extreme power and responsibility. We wouldn't be having to suggest such a drastic proposal if they never elected to willfully deny basic scientific evidence in the first place.

5381
I don't see anything wrong with this, and I'd be the last person to advocate mandated Federal Bureaucracy. Unfortunately climate change is just an aspect of society where heavy government regulation is necessary, because it affects more than just the individual.

Well I know lots people who got straight As across the board during high school that just couldn't hold down a normal conversation without turning it awkward, or have the slightest fucking semblance of an idea of what goes on in the world. They weren't autistic or anything, just not very, as the coined term goes, "street smart." They didn't have common sense.

A combination of both book smarts and street smarts constitutes high intelligence, IMO.

I can't help but notice how fucking young and middle class those protesters look.

Kind of sort of related to the OP, I was watching this incredible documentary by Trevor Phillips (not in anyway related to GTA) about how the PC sphere has completely and utterly taken a hold of British politics, both on the political and social level. It's gotten to the point where anything or anyone that leans even moderately to the right is scrutinized more heavily than those who lean left by an extremely large margin.

A circle jerk? It's a video presenting facts about the US. I didn't know that was a circle jerk.
It's a video capitalizing the accomplishments of the US whilst recognizing none of its flaws. If that isn't a circle jerk by your definition I don't know what is.
Quote
And once again, believing in creationism does not have any semblance on the scientific merit of the US.
It's pretty embarrassing when the only semi developed country that has you beat for "least amount of people who believe in evolution" is Turkey.

The Flood / Re: Gun Laws
« on: March 21, 2015, 08:51:54 AM »
If we can somehow register and prevent mentally unstable individuals from gaining access to firearms and do it without the inclusion of the state, we'd have a real solution there. It's a bit of a pipe dream though.
More like an impossibility.
I know, but my problem with letting the state take control of how firearms are distributed and regulated you only add more power and incentivisation for the government to intrude into personal lives.

Indeed, Europe always gets used as the posterchild for gun control, and how successful gun control is. But that's only because they have larger imposing bureaucratic governments than America does. Hell, you only have to look at my home country, the UK, where fucking internet porn is being clamped down on to reconcile with that.

In short, I don't take issue with the effectiveness gun control has with saving lives. I won't even attempt to dispute that. However, what I do take issue with is who is behind gun control, and what effects it will have on personal liberties.

As a center right libertarian, I tend to avoid discussion about guns, usually because I'm so conflicted as both pro gun and anti gun make really compelling cases for their argument, and the fact that I hold no interest in guns whatsoever.

If we can somehow register and prevent mentally unstable individuals from gaining access to firearms and do it without the inclusion of the state, we'd have a real solution there. It's a bit of a pipe dream though.

5396
Except your clearly mud-slinging quote was never stated in the video anywhere.
>the video is one big circle jerk of america

And believing in creationism isn't inherently bad - it doesn't mean those people reject science.
For someone that linked a video praising the US about its scientific culture, this is a pretty fucking ironic statement.
Quote
I know many who think science is the way God works etc. To say this is bad is just being a buttmad atheist who knocks on theists.

And yeah, with Obamacare the US healthcare is quickly going down the shitter.
The US healthcare has always being going down the shitter, regardless of Obama's statist policies.

5397
"The US is the best country because we're the police force of the world and we have money."

lmao okay. While I appreciate the US culture of placing extreme emphasis on individuality and liberty, you're far from perfect. Healthcare going down the shitter and the fact that 42% of the population believe in creationism are just a few I can list from the top of my head.

For the people who keep trying to dig up dirt about Zimmerman's history, let me ask you a question. During the Rodney King incident, did you recall anyone that brought up the fact that he had robbed a convenience store in his early life in an attempt to discredit the despicable crimes against him? No. That's because it wasn't at all relevant to the case being investigated at hand unless said history conflicted with the evidence and narrative, which it didn't.

It does not matter that Zimmerman had a dubious past. It doesn't matter that he pursued Martin despite the fact that it was dangerous to do so. What matters is who broke the law. And with the empirical evidence given, all signs point to Martin. You can all cry about racism and racial profiling until the cows come home. It doesn't change any hard boiled facts.
Are you seriously comparing the beating of Rodney King to some trigger happy vigilante?

Fact is he should've stayed in his car. The fact that he didn't and followed him shows he was looking for trouble and wanted to play superhero.
I'm drawing a comparison to the fact that both King and Zimmerman are victims, and do not deserve to have their history brought up in an attempt to discredit what happened to them.

For like the millionth time, we all agree that Zimmerman shouldn't have done what he did, just like King shouldn't have been drink driving and trying to outrun the cops. He was negligent. There's no disputing that. The point we're trying to make here is that in legal and moral terms, Trayvon is the one in the wrong here. Not Zimmerman.
My point is they're BOTH in the wrong and if Trayvon was alive he should be in jail along with Zimmerman.
Agreed, although I don't think they're equally guilty. Zimmerman should be charged with negligence or at most disrupting the cause of justice. If Trayvon was alive he should be charged with assault and battery.
