Serious / Re: We can all agree that Ricky Gervais is a cunt, right?

You have 10 seconds to justify the inhumane murder of animals for entertainment purposes without referring to "MUH FRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDUUUUUUUUMMM MMMMMSS"

And yeah, Giraffes are endangered FYI.
I can hear the Right masturbating to her right now!
Do you have to turn everything into identity politics?

I would consider myself center right, and I too find this morally deplorable.
I'm referring to stereotypical, generic, hardline, Tea Party Republitards.
You know, it's infantile language like this that turns the debate dysfunctional at the drop of a hat.

I really don't see how you're any different then the people you libel.
Was there even a debate to begin with? You just made a claim and I replied with a sarcastic comment in agreement with what you're saying.
No, I'm just trying to clarify that referring to the political opponents you disagree with as "Republitards" isn't the least bit constructive or mature.

Just a protip of the day.
Again, there wasn't really any sort of debate between us, so I wasn't assuming that you'd go uppity on me for making a sarcastic comment.
And again, I'm not talking about any kind of debate between us.

I'm talking about your childish language.
Thanks for the concern, but the issue doesn't bother me enough to take your advice. So it's really up to you whether we will have this conversation again or not in the future.
Enjoy having your opinions not taken seriously by anyone then.

I recall you using the words "vegan sperg-out" in a recent, somewhat related thread.

Though we seem to be in agreement on this issue, I can't help but feel this is a blatant double standard.

I dont know why Cameron is getting extra flak for this. I mean yeah, I can see it being an infringement on speech, but the fucking SNP have criminalized sectarian songs at fucking football matches in Scotland, and nobody says a word about it.
Scots aren't people and therefore lack free speech rights

In the books she's not even a top tier fighter. She's just an abnormally large woman.
Everyone ignores the part where Jaime said that even if he wasn't in chains or malnourished, he'd still have struggled in a fight with Brienne. But I think this guy puts it better:
"In the books, Brienne moved a boulder the size of a cow and dropped it onto a river galley. Jaime described her as being as quick as a cat. Ser Goodwin described her as being faster than anyone her size had a right to be. She won Renly's 116 knight melee. She rope-a-doped the Mad Dog of Saltpans who had slain 20 men in one night. She took out three sellswords at once and was described as being able to take out three more the way she fought."

Yeah, "just an abnormally large woman".
I never said she was a particularly bad fighter, just not to the standard everyone holds her up to be. All of her notable wins are based on complete contrivances, especially in the show. I have no doubt that an equally matched Hound/Jaimie would absolutely steamroll Brienne, both the book and show iteration. Just because she's a good fighter doesn't mean that puts her on the tiers of Barristan Selmy, Jaimie Lannister, The Mountain etc.

Ugh, I hate how SJW clamour to this fight as if it's a testament to Brienne's fighting capabilities, yet never fail to recognise the nuances involved.

The Hound was tired, weak, possibly infected and malnourished whereas Brienne was more than likely fully rested, not under any kind of physical ailment and had the best possible armour and weapons the Lannisters could buy.

Same deal with Jaimie. He was in chains, malnourished and clad in dirty rags. I find it funny that GRRM and the show writers have to depower her opponents to such a degree where she stands a fighting chance. In the books she's not even a top tier fighter. She's just an abnormally large woman.

And yeah I realise my autism is showing right about now.
She did fight Ler Soras and make him yield.
Loras is more of a jouster than a fighter tbh. I can't recall any notable fighting feats he has under his belt besides knocking the Mountain off his horse, which really falls under a jousting feat tbh.

If he's bipolar he's probably more than likely not that serious about it.

Still, if it keeps him happy and alleviates his illness to a certain extent, then no harm no foul really.

I would chime in my opinion but I don't think I'm in the mood for an autistic vegan sperg out.

All I'm gonna say is I like eating meat both because I like it, and it pisses of sanctimonious vegans with sticks up their arses, yourself being a prime example.
Perhaps read through the thread and get a decent understanding of the subject before assuming there's nothing valuable to discuss?
So you're telling me not to assume despite the fact that you just assumed I hadn't read the thread?
I think it's clear that you haven't. Nobody with any sincerity would read the exchanges in this thread and then chalk it up to an "autistic vegan sperg out".
But I have and I would, and now you're only proving my point.
Well, let's take it back a notch then. What parts of my position (or Verb's) do you find objectionable? Assuming there are any, of course.
The part where you both registered an account on this website.
It's a shame you are only willing to think critically when it suits you.

I'll gladly have a discussion with you if you change your mind.
I think I'd rather have my sirloin steak chilling in the fridge tbh

Eh kind of ambivalent about this. As long as they are able to discern between incitement to violence and free speech, then I'm cool with it. They seem pretty adamant on blurring the lines on this one though.
