Um, the same reason they get paid less in the first place? Employers are sexist, they don't want want women working for them at all. They're not allowed to straight-up not hire them, so they pay women ludicrously less instead, to dissuade them from trying to interfere in "men's work".
...am I being rused here? Discriminating against female employees, especially those who are the perfect candidate for the job, literally makes no fucking business sense whatsoever. Dark Knight is great but those two are great AND fun which is more important.

I've seen the movie like 5 times.
It's overrated out the asshole. The only thing extraordinary about it is Ledger's performance. Bale is alright, two face was unnecessary and not really wanted, the action was terrible and didn't feel like a superhero movie should (Iron Man did). The only reason I rewatch the movie is for Ledger, and even then Hamill's joker was better, despite being a cartoon.
