It's the year the West fought back against relentless cuckoldry if anything.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I can't stand Jax's gimp swagger.

In fact, Jax is a pretty gimpy name.

Jax is just an all round gimp.

Yas bois, Denis Villenueve has never made a bad film yet.

Also, I don't think this refutes the Deckard replicant theory that people are complaining about. It's possible that Tyrell designed him to last longer. Rachael was meant to be a replacement for his niece and it's unlikely he would build in the 4 year fail-safe for her, and it could be equally applicable to Deckard.

Serious / Re: Geert Wilders convicted of hate speech
« on: December 12, 2016, 05:58:39 PM »
I said his conviction was deserved and that the judgment was sound. Whether he should've been prosecuted and tried is something else entirely. The fact that it's a political speech doesn't matter either, as it was held outside of parliament.
How exactly is it "a correct application of the law" to convict someone and not even bother following through with anything? Just seems like a tremendous waste of time which will only end up drawing attention to a non issue and a clearly undesirable candidate. The last thing this guy needs is a victim status for his supporters and the disenfranchised.

You're a smart guy Flee, no doubt, but you have this tendency to view political issues from a really narrow prism. Have you not learned anything from Brexit and Trump? I warned you about the invigoration of the far right from this kind of apologetic rhetoric about a year ago and you tacitly laughed it off, so don't act surprised when far right populism continues to infect your beloved EU.
Quote
That's not really true. Wilders gained 7 seats during the 4 weeks before his trial with 2 more following the week of his conviction. He's been gaining popularity steadily over the past few months and this is entirely in line with his recent surge in popularity. Not at all "dramatically risen" compared to what happened before, despite what certain headlines might have you believe. "The polls" are also a single online poll which is pretty notorious in the Benelux for its inaccuracy.
According to Maurice de Hond and IPSOS his party now leads 10 seats after his conviction. Not really sure what "online polls" you're referring to which you deem unreliable, but the ones I've been looking into corroborate with my statement.

Rightfully so. A very sound judgment and correct application of the law, in my opinion.
You really think valuable legal resources should be spent on a political speech, however distasteful it may be?

Just a little addendum here, Wilders has risen dramatically in the polls since his conviction.

Seeing as how you're such a prominent critic of populism, perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to excuse the forces that are patently galvanizing it.

These people are actually willing to try and end the world just because they lost the election.

Oh please. The world isn't going to end because Obama requested a look at the various hackings and questionable actions that occurred during the campaign.

Besides, once Trump moves in, this is going to go nowhere.
No, but I really wouldn't put it past the Obama administration to try and false flag Russian involvement Tonkin Gulf style, and all hell is going to break loose if that happens.

Do you honestly believe Russia had zero involvement in the elections?
Do you honestly believe Russian agents were behind Trump winning?

Never said they were, so let's not jump to that extreme.

But to act like Russia had no influence in the election or decisions by the Trump campaign is pretty silly.
And your evidence for this is...where exactly?

I could ask the same for you.

I simply find it odd that the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that they had contacts within the Trump campaign only two days after Trump won. Plus I see no reason why an investigation into such a possibility is a bad thing.
So conjecture then, gotcha.
