« on: January 17, 2015, 11:21:56 AM »
Are they bringing one of those out every year now or something?I swear I'm seeing 'new 3ds' all the time or something. It's getting like fucking apple.
3DS has been around since, what, 2010? The only difference between the "versions" is the size of the console, so it's not really like a 5/5S/5C thing. Console's had a five year run, and the N3DS is more like a DSi than a new entry: it's a 3DS with a few games that can run only on it. They'll still be making 3DS games after this, so unless some N3DS games come out that you just have to have or you want a second analog stick, there's no point in upgrading.

It seems like apple, where they release a *slight* upgrade every year that costs more money thn the last and then fase out the last version within the year.

I feel sorry for people who genuinely fall for this kind of thing.
They haven't fazed out the normal 3DS at all up until now, and even then that's spotty. The ONLY "upgrade" in the past five years was the screen size. And that's debatable as an upgrade because the screens are the same resolution, so everything looks more blurry and the system is more bulky.

So they're charging more money for a worse thing?

And people call EA a moneygrab.

Let's try and get it to DeeJ.
I've always wanted to see someone reach DeeJ level. Has anyone done it before?

I don't think so.

My tablet only "clicks" when the pen is physically touching the surface.

Huh, I don't know what was happening then. I was on fireworks and it was drawing even when the pen wasn't pressed to the surface.

school which heavily encouraged corporal punishment.

Is that even legal?
In Tanzania it seems to be.

I didn't realise we were living in the 1950's.
Well it is in Africa.

Fair point.

My tablet would basically act as a cursor if you held it over the pad and only "clicked" if you touched it.

Is there a way to stop that happening?

Oh, and I'll look into one of those you mentioned, thanks.
It'd be a pain in the add if you didn't. Alternating between the mouse/keyboard and tablet to do everything is really cumbersome.

Holding your pen over the tablet should be like mousing on a tracpad.

I guess it's one of those things you just get used to.

As a rule, there are two things you don't price hunt on: tattoos and graphic tablets. I'd recommend a Wacom brand tablet, check in the range of 40£ - 100£.

Hmm. Is the thing about picking up the pen when it's not touching a thing on mosts tablets, or only the worse ones?

That artwork uses elements of both the Halo 3-era armour (Which makes no sense anyway) and the cross-serice BDU seen in Reach and CEA.
>implying it doesn't look awesome sauce

No. The Marine BDU is the lines of the Halo 2 Anniversary/ Halo Wars variants or the Halo 3 useless variant.

It is in many southern U.S. states.

Wait, so that makes heavier pistols like the desert eagle classified as what? Because I'm fairly sure their larger caliber makes them need two hands to hold. At least of you want any accuracy at all.

37??

At least they're all of the same thing.

I have a folder of avatars on my HDD. When I decided to do this, I just mass uploaded them onto imgur then copied all the links. Though one of the images was of fourteen vriations of the soldier you see in reach that I had to put onto seperate documents, which is why a lot of them are against a white background.

I have photoshop, but I'm finding using a touchpad on my laptop really fucking annoying (My mouse broke) and I'm thinking about getting a drawing pad to use for digital art. Are they worth it? How much do decent ones cost?

I tried out a friends and it did this thing where it would start drawing if you had the pen a few millimetres off the surface, which was really annoying for me- but he said his cost £30. Do they all do that?

70. Goes with the dumb "seven" gimmick, and it's even more restrictive.

heh, that seems more likely
