It's a good thing racism is dead and we don't have to worry about these things anymore...

dude's just an idiot who does not understand transgenderism, nor does he want to take the time to even begin to try to understand it, much less empathize with those effected by it.
But can you at not least consider the possibility that transgenderism may just be psychological?
the fact that your hormones are all screwy and your brain chemistry is different in transgenders would indicate it isn't just psychological.

lol all you want, it's true.
Try eating some raw meat and see how well you digest that shit.

why take supplements for something that is available naturally?
Because it doesn't involve the torture and murder of sentient creatures.

Duh.
why do you care about the torture and murder of sentient creatures? i thought you were all about avoiding living.

meat also contains some vitamins and minerals that you otherwise need to take vitamins or supplements for, soooo...
...Right. So take the vitamins and supplements. They're there, and they're readily available. There's no excuse.

unless you don't consider meat-eaters to be addicts

which i do
you consider meat eaters to be addicts?
Absolutely.

Especially if you concede that consuming it is wrong. Because if you concede that it's wrong, you have an obligation to stop. But most people continue anyway. "Because it tastes good." That's called an addiction.

What else is it? I'm just calling it what it is.
meat also contains some vitamins and minerals that you otherwise need to take vitamins or supplements for, soooo...

it's part of the natural order of things. our bodies are supposed to digest meat. other animals eat other animals.

it's just how things work.

another one:

addicts are weak.
Do you think people suffering from depression are weak?
Nope. But you can't just...stop being depressed. You are able to stop drinking, doing drugs, having sex, etc.
It's far more complicated than that. You can't "will" yourself out of addiction any more than you can will yourself out of depression.
you can stop yourself from going to the store and buying a 6 pack and drinking it in one sitting before going to work that day. that's a very specific set of steps you could have entirely avoided by choice.

willfully-unvaccinated people should not be allowed in public spaces.
Define "willfully". There are legitimate medical reasons for some people not to vaccinate.
Right, and I'm not talking about those people. If you have a legitimate medal reason as to why you cannot be vaccinated, fine. If you think OMG AUTISM or MUH BELIEVES then you can fuck right off.

It's a shitty thing to hit someone, no matter their sex. If you hit me, I'll hit you back, no matter your sex.

This isn't muddy at all.

Serious / What's the point in suspending someone's drivers license?
« on: June 07, 2015, 06:58:02 PM »
Every so often, I'm reminded of Angels' pitcher Nick Adenhart who was killed in a car crash following his first start of the 2009 season. The driver that killed him, aside from a myriad of other offenses, was driving on a suspended license.

What's the point in suspending or revoking someone's license as a means of punishment? It won't actually keep them out of the driver's seat.

How the shit can you have infinite something when its source is finite? I can't have an infinite amount of paper with a finite number of trees.

Watching a bunch of episodes of Girls.

Trying to find someone selling a softball bat I'm after.

Wondering how people manage to get banned from this place. There's like 5 rules to follow.

Serious / Re: Does the concept of an afterlife de-value life?
« on: June 05, 2015, 05:39:30 PM »
Yup.

Econ 101: scarcity = value.

So here's an interesting question. Why do religious people not pick up on that? They just pass it over. It's pretty easy to spot, I think.

Does living until 90 rather than 30 devalue life? Does having access to unlimited clean water make your water worthless? It's a flawed premise.
economically, it follows. if you have unlimited clean water, where you aren't hauling a bucket 10 miles for your family to share, you don't think about it or how much you're using. so, yes, it is less valuable.

Having access to water doesn't make it any less necessary to survive.  It's pretty silly to apply economics to the value of life.
i didn't say it was any less necessary, just that you don't consider its value since it's unlimited.

It's my belief that nonexistence is bliss, but whatever.
how can nonexistence be blissful? nonexistence is...nothing
Exactly.

I don't mean bliss in the sense of happiness--I mean it in the sense of perfection.
ah ok. that makes more sense.
