Gaming / Spoiler OneShot
« on: June 15, 2020, 02:31:21 PM »
Did you save Niko like a loser with emotions or make the cruel hard difficult but ultimately far more moral option of defying the World Machine and saving the world?

Niko might be the only non-NPC in the game (aside from you and, arguably, the Author) but that doesn’t matter. As Niko said, Silver and Prototype existed outside the World Machine’s code when they saved you in the mines - the place that even the World Machine couldn’t see. That proves that every tamed robot and human NPC character in the game is a true AI, capable of advancing their knowledge based on preexisting knowledge, and thus able to gain sentience and sapience. That makes them just as real as Niko.

And thus even though Niko is a human and the NPCs are code, they’re living code, and it’s morally reprehensible to make them suffer in a cold sunless world to save the life of a single human being.

Thoughts? Did you even play the game? Yeah, you. I know who’s reading this.

The Flood / Been getting into The Boondocks
« on: June 01, 2020, 04:29:35 PM »
Only on episode 3, but I can already tell I'm in this one for the long haul. It's hilarious and has gorgeous animation, but more than that, it has social messages and extrospection on a level that I haven't seen from a show in a long time. I don't know if this is a bad thing to say, but from Sanford & Son to Chris Rock, I've always found black comedy that exposes subtle forms of racism, the plight of black communities, and the broken unity of black people amongst themselves (internalized phobia of your own race included) extremely thought-provoking.

I love the tension between Robert and Ruckus, and though I haven't seen enough of the show to really elaborate, the checkers match between the two in episode 2 says it all. In short, the two of them are debating about Ruckus' borderline worship of the white race. Ruckus is a self-hating black man who is going on and on about how the white man "civilized" the black man, and how black people owe the white race, but only repay them by protesting and voting. Robert is at first befuddled by Ruckus (Ruckus says "king me" when it seems like the debate is going in his favor) but quickly recovers and puts Ruckus on his toes with his excellent wordplay and logical reasoning. This puts Ruckus in a state of mania and he goes off on a rant, just repeating the same shit he already said. The scene ends with Robert responding to that rant with a calm "Well, how about this: game, nigga." I love how the checkers match itself is a metaphor for the debate they're having, and it's not until Ruckus trips up on his own words and unwillingly cedes the debate to Robert that Robert wins the match itself. The "nigga" part from Robert is the icing on the cake - Robert reminding Ruckus that as much as he wants to be white, he is a black man. And that's not a bad thing.

That's the B-plot of the episode. The A-plot is about R Kelly's trial for sexual acts with a minor. The prosecutor, Tom Dubois, is a black man who's confident that the mountain of evidence against R Kelly will be enough to convict him. (Love that character btw, hope he shows up more. Perhaps one of the most moral and upstanding characters on the show so far). R Kelly's unnamed defense attorney is a white man (voiced by Adam West no less) who uses R Kelly's immense popularity, and an insistence that the white establishment is out to get R Kelly, to quickly swing the trial in his favor despite the evidence. The defense attorney also uses the fact that Dubois is married to a white woman as a way to discredit him and imply that he's part of the white establishment himself.

It very soon becomes clear that R Kelly is going to get off scot-free, and Dubois' BSOD monologue almost made me cry, but more just made me so disappointed and angry:

Quote
Dubois: Please, people! You saw the tape. The girl testified she was underage. Y-you're not allowed to do that to a little girl!!! We have a videotape!

Female Juror: Go tell that to your white bitch.

Other Juror: Mm-hmm!

Dubois: [Dejected, head hung] ......the prosecution rests.

Huey would be the "main character" of the show, a 10 year old boy who very adamantly despises what he sees as the white establishment and its privilege, and who is extremely proud of his own race. Huey is silent throughout the entire trial (his brother Riley by contrast loudly protesting for R Kelly to be freed throughout the episode). However, after Dubois more or less cedes the case to the defense, head flat on his desk, and just waiting for this to be over, Huey gets up from the audience and walks to the well of the courtroom. He delivers an excellent speech that made me appreciate his character so much more (up until now you weren't sure what side he was on):

Quote
Hey! What the hell is wrong with you people? Every famous nigga that gets arrested is not Nelson Mandela! Yes, the government conspires to put a lot of innocent black men in jail on fallacious charges! But R. Kelly is not one of those men!

We all know the nigga can sing! But what happened to standards? What happened to bare minimums? You a fan of R. Kelly? You wanna help R. Kelly? Then get some counseling for R. Kelly! Introduce him to some older women! Hide his camcorder! But don't pretend like the man is a hero! Act like you got some goddamn sense, people!

I wish the episode ended with R Kelly going to jail, but the crowd just ignores Huey's speech and acquits him anyway. The ending narration from Huey / montage of what happened to everyone afterward, ties everything up in an extremely succinct way that cemented this episode as one of my favorite episodes of anything, ever:

Quote
Huey voiceover: I did battle with ignorance today, and ignorance won. I admit that I'm often vexed at the behavior of my own people. Yeah, vexed is a good word.

Dubois: [Having lost the case, returns to his cheap car. His wife greets him there.]

Sarah Dubois: [Hugs Dubois] [Smiling] I told you about messing with them white women.

Huey voiceover, continued: You do what you can to help black folks, and they make you wonder why you even bother.

Ruckus: [Asleep at the park bench, with nowhere to go.]

Robert: [Parks his car next to Ruckus. He wakes Ruckus up and helps take him home.]

Huey voiceover, continued: But they're our people, and we got to love them regardless. One thing for sure, though: can't blame this one on the white man.

[EPISODE ENDS]

Like holy shit. I know it's a simple message, but it still resonated with me so much and changed my mood back to happy. I seriously recommend checking out this iconic show if you haven't seen it yet. I actually can't believe it's taken me so long myself.

Autoposts

A simple bot that analyzes the most used words of each user and posts a sampled message, using that data, for every two hours that a user doesn’t post.

As the bot improves its sampling accuracy, it could lend itself to more convincing posts, eventually leading to a kind of symbiosis where we have a fully formed community of artificial personalities that respond to each other and create activity and ad revenue, even with this site devoid of input from real users.

What do we all think of this? Also I’m altruistically donating this idea to Cube.net without any request or demand of financial recompense. All I ask is a moderator position and a yearly site holiday in my honor.

this is all hypothetical, it did not happen to me

Spoiler
In a HYPOTHETICAL situation:

Where someone is offering to house you, and obviously you need to pay rent but not until you get a job, but the situation is kind of contingent on the fact that you're a hot, passing trans girl who someone (chaser) wants to be able to have sex with.

If before you moved in you had sex, and they wanted to do things that you felt you couldnt say no to because you need a place to live, and said yes anyway and pretended as hard as you can that it was nice and pleasing but really the entire time you were just waiting for it to stop.

And then the chaser leaves and hes convinced you had a good time and things are all swell and good and everything. But you still feel really gross and just shaky and weird. How would one hypothetically get over those feelings? This isnt a big deal by any means - just asking.

The Flood / DPH is in my system for the first time in years
« on: April 29, 2020, 09:51:32 PM »
I stole two pills from the package

I went home

I took my knife and sliced them up into tiny particles

and I took ONE of the tiny particles

and I felt the DPH effect but how it SHOULD BE

my mistake with microdosing DPH earlier was like "I'll do half a pill" half a pill is way too much

DPH is sentient. It wants you. It wants you to be consumed by it. But if you just take a tiny tiny tiny amount then youre fine. I flushed the rest except for a small amount of dph powder thats so small

whenever I do that dph should I snort it or take it?

I would just like to publicly tell SecondClass that I believe she is the most quality member here on this forum. Not a single letter on the keyboard she presses when posting here is a wasted effort. While I may not agree with her on a lot of things, Hell even 99% of things, she is truly an eye-opening individual. I have this newfound interest in aspiring to be more like her.

Carmen, I sincerely hope you continue to post as you always do.

Now please post your Totally Spies review.

When you're a guy it's like your body is this rock. This hard, defensive shell that's designed to reflect shit and bounce that shit right back at the mofo

and that's cool

and that serves a purpose

But when you're a girl, your body is like a sponge. It just absorbs everything it touches and stores it and brings everything in, not out. So I've noticed that like, alcohol (which I'm drinking tonight, first night in about four months) affects me in a way, not so much as a "it's been four months, your tolerance is lower" way - because I've felt that too and that's different - but in a "you are lighter, you are more spongy, you are more soft and foamy and your stomach cannot endure as much of this toxin as it could when you were a guy.

And so on literally one hearty drink of WHITE CLAW  5% alc sparking water I got instantly not just buzzed, but DRUNK????? I'm 6'3" yo. That does not happen to me. But then again I've also been exercising so much more because of my girl Z (I will refer to my partners as Z, B, and Lisa for anonymity. Lisa wont care if I say her real name lmao.) Anyway, Z is the one with money I told you about. I've been getting my ass into super good shape with actual exercises, and DIG THIS: when I was a guy, I could do 10 pushups every day for a week and get pretty much no muscle, and do the pushups no problem. As soon as I'm a girl, I can't even do a single damn push up all of a sudden. But then I get to the point where I can do one. Then I can do two. Then I can do three. So I'm like, three pushups a day. And by the third day, I had enough strength to where I could do ten again. So now I'm doing ten every day.

It's just like, things are harder physically as a girl but also so much swifter and we are easier to adapt and change

anyway sorry for the long rant post - discussion value : how was your day and what did you do?

also here is a picture of Aku

« on: April 24, 2020, 05:52:21 AM »
No joke lol

I won't elaborate in case either of the girls or my fiance comes on here and doesnt like the personal details being shared but let me just say I don't have to worry about money now because of one of my girls, she's a fucking prodigy

she wanted to make sure I loved her without knowing that first though (which I do) and I passed I guess

so yeah pretty much you all laughed at me

laughed at my squalor

my charm and looks paid off though

I talk to people. I get to know them and deeply connect with them. And now I have a life plan and a harem lmao

don't believe me - idc

I just want to say that if anyone deserves this, it's me. I've been through so much shit as you all know. The good people here will be happy for me. If this was a decent forum, this thread would be met with positive reactions. But I can already tell this is going to be an extremely negative thread filled with mad attacks and accusations and shit. Stay petty lol. I've found my peace and paradise.

Chinatown is a dry film - devoid of both water and hope. It’s also a film that contains one of my favorite villains, ever. He doesn’t have any powers or abilities - he isn’t even a Joker-style manipulator of chaos with the ability to plan eight steps ahead. No, the antagonist of this film, Noah Cross, is such a fantastic villain because he’s real. He represents the true evildoers in our world: the people who care about nothing but what they can own and the magnitude of the mark they’ll leave after they're gone.

He rapes his own daughter to leave a mark on her, so she’ll never be able to forget him. He plunders all the water from his state to leave a mark on it, ensuring that future generations will remember that he was the man who did it. He doesn’t show any remorse for his actions, not even trying to justify them. He says that in the right time and at the right place, anyone would be capable of doing exactly what he did. He’s a textbook sociopath, caring only about his legacy. Even when our idealistic hero, Jake Gittes, points out that there’s nothing more on the planet that Cross could own and asks him in exasperation WHAT more he could possibly want, Cross grins and declares, “The future, Mr. Gittes! The future.” It's worth noting that Cross intentionally misprounounces Gittes' name as "Gitts", another tactic to demean the man and show his ownership of the situation.

Noah Cross displays no empathy for his victims throughout the film. This is exemplified early on, when it’s revealed that he eats his fish dinner with the head still on the fish. The eyes looking up at its killer don’t seem to bother Cross as he takes a bite out of its flesh, and neither is he bothered by his “granddaughter’s” screams of horror when abducting her, even though she just saw him murder her mother in cold blood. He’s still smiling and acting like he did nothing wrong.

Perhaps the worst part of this entire film is that Cross’ only protection, the only thing stopping him from being punished by his multitudes of unabashed cruelties, is the society that he himself is destroying. The law offers no recourse to Jake to stop this monster, and the best thing Jake can do to solve the problem, is to “forget it”.

You should all watch this film if you haven't yet. It's truly one of the best films ever shot and I give you my word that you'll be moved by it.
