The Flood / Re: Do you believe ego death is a real phenomenon?« on: February 14, 2017, 08:58:18 PM »
Yeah, of course. If somebody loses their memories, their likes and dislikes, their beliefs and convictions, and have them replaced them with other, different ones, then who they used to be can be considered dead.

The Flood / Re: itt: we post the most based human beings« on: February 13, 2017, 07:49:29 PM »It's a sad day on Sep7agon when the only amusement I can get is correcting comic book lore from 20 years ago christ shit fuck. Anything written and painted by Alex Ross, particularly Marvels and Kingdom Come. The man gets what superheroes are about, and has them doing more than just punching bad guys. Also, his art is amazing. Marvel has some good side stories going on right now, like Old Man Logan, The Unworthy Thor, Thanos and Venom. You won't need to know what Marvel's been shitting out in their mainline books to get into them. Born Again is a fantastic Daredevil story, one of Frank Miller's few that didn't suck. DC has been killing it with Rebirth, as long as you've read Convergence and have basic knowledge of DC's history. Lex Luthor: Man of Steel and Joker are interesting looks at the characters in question. Red Son and American Alien are good starting points if you want to get into Superman. Sandman and Watchmen, of course, but also look out for Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing. In general side stories tend to be much better than series bogged down by continuity. 953

Pardon me while I nitpick. Up until DOS, there had been major characters killed off permanently. The original Flash, Jason Todd and Supergirl spring to mind. At the time it wasn't inconceivable that they really had offed Superman for good. But yeah for the most part he's totally right. DOS was the digital-ink-on-paper equivalent of a retarded Summer blockbuster. 957
