you're just mad because i think you're stupid

Your opinion of me means the damnedest little.

What I do care about, however, is your assholish behavior, after you announced that you'd stop being such a shithead. In every way, you've failed to live up to that promise. You said you didn't want to be hated by everyone at every site you go to, and yet I'm hard-pressed to find even a single conversation you've had since then that didn't involve insulting or, at the very least, talking down to whoever you're speaking to. You apologized for your douchey behavior, yet you continue to act like an absolute asshat. You led every single person who read that post to think you'd make any sort of effort to correct yourself. But no, you haven't changed in the slightest. You never will, either.

"I want to be accepted into this community. I want to start over."

Yeah, well, you've blown every chance you've been given.

you guys shouldn't waste your time trying to counterargue, because i'm not arguing with you

there is no argument here

your meaning of life sucks
Okay? The sooner you learn that people have different opinions than you, the sooner you can fucking chill out for once.

It's funny. After he made a whole thread on Bnet about how he was going to change, after almost everyone gave him the benefit of the doubt, he goes and pulls his usual shit again. I wonder why I bothered asking if he could get back on BE after the mods realized the site was better off without him.

Survive. Reproduce. Die.
i might have said something along those lines before

when i was twelve

And then you suffered a stroke, I take it.

Quote
now i realize that that's not the "meaning" of life so much as it is the function of life

Reproduction is the goal of every living being. In deciding not to do that, you have failed your most basic task as a living being. Nice job.

Quote
you've shown yourself to be rather unintelligent in past threads, though, so i doubt you know the difference

I don't care.

...Well, yeah. A gun that can fire half a dozen bullets in one second is probably more likely to kill somebody than a gun that fires just one bullet per trigger-squeeze.

Debatable.

It's down to cartridge, recoil, weight of the firearm, and shooter ability.

There is a reason why they call it "Full Retard."

Yeah, but at the end of the day the odds of six pieces of burning-hot metal getting fired in rapid succession is more likely to kill someone than just one.

It depends entirely on the firearm, the cartridge, the recoil, and the shooter's ability.

Look at it this way. You have your street choppers. The Infamous Mac-10. It's an open bolt sub machine gun in 9mm Luger. It's incredibly light and short. It has a cyclic rate of 1250 rounds per minute. The bolt is easily the heaviest part of the gun past the magazine. When you pull the trigger the bolt is going to slam forward, hit the primer, fire the round and scream back to continue the cycle. You have the majority of the weight slamming into the back of the gun pulling the muzzle up. You may get one or two rounds off where you aim, but the rest are going to start going wild.

Different autos have different ways to compensate. The AR and AK platform each have a recoil spring in the butt stock to reduce that felt recoil and keep the muzzle on target, but it only does so much. The M1918 Thompson had a commentator that vented gas upward at the muzzle to keep it down and prevent muzzle rise.

Fact of the matter is, it's difficult to keep your muzzle on target when firing full auto. There is literally no practical reason to use it in any situation where you can take an extra half second to line up for a second shot with a semi-auto. Unless of course you are using a firearm with almost to muzzle climb or felt recoil.

And that makes perfect sense, but there's also a kind of logic behind many bullets > one bullet.

Spoiler
At this point I just want to see how long I can keep people responding.

Hey, if I don't care about a book I'm assigned, I won't read it. I'd fail whatever class I'm taking if I did that, though, so I do care about the book.

there are reasons to read things

you don't actually have to give a fuck about what you're reading in order to read it

If you didn't care about the book, you wouldn't have read it.

That would be a viable point to make if we were debating the effectiveness of muskets vs. LMG's.

You raise a valid point, but when you really think about it a bunch of bullets at once are more dangerous than just one bullet.
