Physically...well, I've never really understood why there has to be dozens of possible choices of sexual identification.

I've usually seen "trap" refer to crossdressers. Transwomen are often erroneously referred to as traps, but that doesn't make them the same thing. Crossdressers are not the same thing as Trans*people, as many feel no desire to live as or be the other sex (as a person who is transgender does) and is merely a sexual fetish.
