At no point are the Skulls a surprise, Skull Face is always expected, Sahelanthropus gets called out before it appears, and you'll definitely know when Mantis and his lackey are going to show up. I get the whole 'interactive film' thing, but it'd be nice to have some suspense as to what opposition is in each level.

Regular Show is shit and is unnecesarily creepy. It's also too serious considering its artstyle. It's got a humorous artstyle and much of the story is too serious to be compatible for my tastes.

I think it's more fanservice. It's more than obvious Big Boss and Solid sound different. Besides, since Hideo is so "pro-western" and his games literally ride on American lore for a lot of his canon, AND he cares a lot about who casts for the English voice actors
I'd say it's canon they're different. But again, it's how you interpret it. I like to think you can look like someone and not sound the same. Twins don't sound the same either. I would assume clones don't.
Well, we know Big Boss looked and sounded identical to Solid in his youth. His voice change in MGS5 was ostensibly because Spoiler it isn't really Big Boss, but both Bosses have the same actor, so that rather muddles the whole thing.
I assume Solid Snake's lifetime of smoking as well as quickened aging altered his voice; perhaps if he had gone nine years without a cig he'd have sounded like Keifer Southerland as well.
You'd be a better boxer than Muhammad Ali with that long reach.
Sutherland claimed the voice change would be explained in TPP (implying Boss did sound like Solid at one point but didn't by '84), but nothing of the sort happened, so there's little left but speculation. Edit: or, after doing some digging, apparently he didn't. Huh. I was told he had.

I'll admit that the Forerunner Trilogy is a well written and well thought-out piece of work. It's just not a story I ever wanted to read.
It doesn't help that practically everything about Halo's lore strongly suggested that we were the descendants of Forerunners. Hell, Spark literally tells us that we are. Yeah, you can retcon the line and spin it differently so that when he says Chief is a "Child of his makers," you can argue he means "Their heir," but that's definitely not what it was originally meant to convey.
Gravemind (in H3) calls chief "Child of my enemy."
