Can I join in spirit? I don't have the game, or even a PS4, but I want to feel like I'm helping. I'll wave around pom-poms and sing encouraging songs.

Pretty sure you can just make a PSNID for free and then I can invite you.

I would, but I don't currently have access to my PS3.

...Come to think of it I'm not sure if it still works. I haven't used it in years.

Okay, Okay, I will literally keep assassinations on just for that

As opposed to figuratively keeping them on just for that?

Das can't because he's not allowed to go within 500 feet of a school.

I wonder why they think he can't do anything from 500 feet away.

...Or is it just for those combat deployments?

Bingo. It was originally supposed to be operable, but got cut because it was apparently overpowered.

Sensory deprivation tanks. The next best thing to nonexistence. Horrifying.

I thought they are super calming tho

I don't. Doing nothing, affecting nothing, scares the shit out of me more than anything else.

breaking into someone's house and placing a small object or some kind, perhaps a gyroscope, into their home over their fireplace and not taking anything

they'd be curious for the rest of their life and have no answers to many questions, wondering what i took

Y'know what I'd like? The ability to re-lock gates and doors. It'd be cool to trip the enemy soldiers up with their own barrier.

It was the monetary loss Konami was suffering that caused them to cut so much. Instead of throwing more and more money at a product that would have to sell a copy to everybody on Earth just to break even, they rushed it and threw it out the door as quickly as possible.

That's not how coordinates work. They put the coordinates down, sending them to the chopper, the chopper then has the coordinates that it is supposed to show up at, coordinates are not something that changes when a sandstorm roles in.

Ah, but these are not mere coordinates, these are Kojidinates. They don't work in sandstorms.

So, how did she communicate with Big Boss the whole time they worked together? She had to have had one or something. Seeing as how she was with Cipher beforehand, she should have experience with that kind of technology.

She had a radio, of course, but that isn't the same as working an '80s iPhone.
It's 80's tech, I'm pretty sure anyone could understand it.

'80s tech generally didn't include 3D holographic touchscreens or scanners that can read ink and burn it to memory. It's clearly not just another radio.
Just like everything made in the 90's can be fixed by smacking it a few times, anything in the 80's can be used by a small child. This is the way things are, accept it.

Well, Eli did pilot Sahelanthropus, so I think I see your point.

STILL ALIIIIIIIIIVE

ALRIGHT

LET'S DO THIS

AGAIN

So there's this Illuminati group called the Philosophers made up of America, China, and Russia back in the late 19th century and early 20th century who broke apart due to personal differences. They had a whole fuckton of billions of dollars called the Philosopher's Legacy. This chick called The Boss, who is the greatest soldier of the 20th century, got sent in by America to infiltrate Russia as a pretend double-agent to get their portion of the Legacy, but after a misunderstanding a nuke was fired, she got framed for it, and Russia was ready to go to war.

So her greatest student, Snake, got sent in and after kicking the shit out of a bunch of old dudes, wound up killing her and becoming Big Boss, the new greatest soldier of the 20th century. Meanwhile The Boss' son, Ocelot, got his ass kicked by Snake/Big Boss and saw him as his new mentor/gay lover. He'll become important later. Then Big Boss found out The Boss wasn't a traitor at all and loved her country, which made him bitter and sow the seed of unrest in his soul.

After some bullshit happened he broke away from America and made a military group with a French name I can't remember, his own private army. Meanwhile his old friends formed a new Illuminati called the Patriots and invited him to join since he was the most skilled and famous soldier in the world. Then his army got blown up so he made another along with a full nation of soldiers called Outer Heaven, which happens in MGS5. Also he got put into a coma for nine years during which the Patriots cloned him three times, forming Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, and Solidus Snake. He got pissed at being a clonedaddy so he left the Patriots, took his nation and went rogue, threatening the world with nuclear armageddon using Metal Gear, a giant robot that can fire nukes anywhere on the planet and bypasses most arms treaties.

Solid Snake got sent in to kill Big Boss but failed. Then he got sent in to kill him again and succeeded. So now Solid Snake is the new greatest soldier in the world.

Liquid got jealous that Solid got all the glory so he got himself a Metal Gear, a crew of badasses, and an army of soldiers with Big Boss' DNA implanted. Then Solid blew it all up and killed him, but Ocelot, who got his arm cut off earlier, stitched Liquid's arm onto the stump and got possessed by Liquid's ghost. Then it turns out Ocelot was working for Solidus all along, who is the president of the United States.

Solid gets framed for a terrorist attack and goes into hiding with his nerd friend Otacon, who built the Metal Gear Liquid had.

Two years later, some white-haired bitch named Raiden gets sent into an oil plant to fight terrorists. Except it's all just a simulation to see if he could become like Solid Snake if he goes through the same stuff Snake did in MGS1, but the real Solid Snake helps him see through the bullshit. Raiden kills Solidus while Solid Snake goes after Ocelot, who stole another Metal Gear.

Then Ocelot, who is still possessed by Liquid except it wasn't Liquid's ghost but hypnotherapy making him think he's Liquid, takes over the world using nanomachines. Also Raiden is a kickass cyborg now. Snake (who is old as fuck because of accelerated clone aging) blows everything up, then duels him atop Outer Haven, Ocelot's Outer Heaven-ripoff shit. Snake kills him and then everyone goes home happy, except for Snake because he's dying of a disease he got in MGS1.

I skipped over a hell of a lot but that's the gist of it.

What's so bad about mgs4?

It retcons a lot of the series in ways a lot of fans didn't like. It's clear Kojima only made it at the behest of his fanbase, since he had planned to end the series with Sons of Liberty.

I could ask the same question with Quiet's mission I just finished.

She was forced to speak English, yet you're telling me they didn't have Code Talker on the line like literally every other time? I suppose the storm dimmed the coms though, so that makes sense.
Nevermind the fact Venom Snakes calls in the helicopter every single time by just pressing a few buttons on his iDroid, but apparently that wasn't a thing when Quiet picked it up.

She was in the middle of a sandstorm, the chopper couldn't see them to pick them up without her guiding them.

Besides that, she'd never used the iDroid before, which makes sense because she was technically still their prisoner. Why would they let a potential spy use such a powerful intelligence-gathering tool that contains all sorts of information they wouldn't want any of their enemies knowing?

Also starring:

Eli the "White Mamba"

THANKS FOR SPOILING IT TPP

main thing I can't stand about the game right here ^

At no point are the Skulls a surprise, Skull Face is always expected, Sahelanthropus gets called out before it appears, and you'll definitely know when Mantis and his lackey are going to show up. I get the whole 'interactive film' thing, but it'd be nice to have some suspense as to what opposition is in each level.
