I doubt Bayonetta would have more porn even if they were of equal popularity, though, because there's greater desire for the sexualization of characters that weren't initially sexual than otherwise. You'd think the opposite would be true, but it isn't.

The real disgrace is that Monty had a whole bunch of ideas for it that RT promptly ignored as soon as he was gone. RWBY is something he really, really wanted to do, and he wanted it done his own way, but evidently the wishes of a dead guy don't mean much to them.

I'm mixed, Doomguy works really well for it since you're always in his perspective, but in say Destiny, I'm bothered by it
Was just about to mention Doomguy. The original Doom games definitely intend for the player to imagine they are fighting demons and zombies and whatnot, but in Doom '16 he has little quirks that piece together into a personality of his own that you can find amusement in. You can pretend he's you, but if that's not your cup of tea, he's still a fun character to watch.
