I have no reason to buy a PC. It seems inferior to an Xbox in everyway.

Low quality b8.

that was copypasted from an article somewhere that was probably satirical itself

No the original article was 100% serious and was published in the gaming media.
No it wasn't. It was Kotaku anyway, so who cares?

Satire or Kotaku. Pick one.

I know it's satirical, but it's still autistic anyway. Also, I just found out who DeeJ actually is. Topkek.

Even though I was literally mad, I took that quote from Ghost of TCR. I figured The Flood would know who it would be since The Flood even trolled him, but nope.

I don't want to live in a forum where even the little shit above me is having a nibble. Give me my mute, guys. Sweet mercy.

You shouldn't just be able to mute people who disagree with you. That's not how life works. Stand up to people and get thicker skin. If you spend any prolonged amount of time on the internet, that's what you have to do.

fracking hell. Just say it: I'll never be able to mute her.

I just got here like 3 days ago. What the fuck is your deal? You're a fox-kin/furry or something? Are you being completely, 100% serious about it too, or is it a joke? I honestly can't tell sometimes.

Hey, like it or not, English is one of the most adaptable and practical languages out there, and I happen to think that it flows in the hands of a decent writer
go shill englishness somewhere else

I swear, once you really learn and understand a new language as a native English speaker, English becomes pretty much garbage in comparison.

I don't get it.
Why is FPS so important to some people?

Try having a read of this thread. You could learn something.

My PS2 games say otherwise.

A lot of older consoles actually have a lot of games that play at 60fps. It wasn't until recently that it became a selling point.

That, too. I recall that Jak and Daxter/Ratchet and Clank played at 60fps IIRC along with many others.
Did they really? Because those were some of my favorites.

I'm like 80% sure that those games ran at 60fps.

Gaming sure, high frame rates make movies look fake, really distracting.

That's only because you've only seen 24fps films for a majority of your life. I guarantee if you'd seen films at 48 or even 60fps more often, you'd get used to it.

Can we all realize that games like Destiny don't run at 30fps on all hardware for "console parity"? It's because the hardware is shit and they couldn't hit 60fps if they wanted to.

Well obviously, they went for parity with the last gen consoles and the Xbone. Density could easily be 60fps on the PS4 and probably on the Xbone if they put more effort in/reduced the 1080p to 720 or 944 (I forget the shitty middle ground).

Even if it was 1080/60fps, that wouldn't actually make it less of a bland grindfest though.

I honestly don't think they could hit 60fps unless they went for a very low resolution. How do console manufacturers expect to compete with 4k if they can't even hit 1080p? I just don't get it.

I can play games at 30fps, but 60fps is infinitely more preferable.

Going from BF4 on the 360 to BF4 on the PS4 was an absurdly wonderful change (Inb4hurrconsoles<<<PCMustardrice) and it's genuinely hard to play on 30fps after experiencing 60fps for a shooter.

For some games it doesn't matter as much, but anything with action/shooting/combat should prioritize FPS over shiny particle effects.

Pretty much this. Except for the peasantry. /s

I usually can barely tell the difference >>

Told like someone who doesn't do a lot of gaming at 60fps. And I mean a solid 60, not fluctuating console bullshit.
FYI gameplay and storyline are way more important than graphics.

FPS=/=graphics

In fact I'd almost consider a decent fps important to and an aspect of gameplay.
Hardly.

Boy, that rebuttle was certainly convincing.
What, you want me to debate you or something?

Well, no not really but its not like a little "here's why I disagree" would have been difficult.
I just don't feel like you need 60fps for solid gameplay mechanics.

This is exactly what I said earlier. High framerate is basic functionality. It's not an option unless you don't want anyone to enjoy your game.

Whoops. Sorry >.>

Nice avatar.

It's alright m8.

Also thanks.

It's kind of sad that something that was pretty standard is now a selling point.

Thanks.

However, I never said a game couldn't have solid gameplay mechanics without decent FPS, but those gameplay mechanics are worthless if you're chugging along at 12 fps and can't even actually play the game(I know it's not the same but you can see here that FPS is in fact important to actually playing the game, perhaps FPS should go under basic functionality instead). A higher fps makes gameplay smoother, in other words it's an aspect of gameplay or actually playing the game.

This is exactly what I said earlier. High framerate is basic functionality. It's not an option unless you don't want anyone to enjoy your game.

I'd rather have a smooth 30 fps than a fluctuating 40-50 fps like most 60fps games on consoles. A solid 60fps with high quality motion blur is great tho.
Ugh, I cannot stand artificial motion blur at all.

I agreed with his post until the motion blur part. Motion blur is bullshit. It's only there to hide the low framerates of the console versions of games (think Crysis 2).

You really do, honestly. If you want your game to progress at anything faster than a snail's pace, you need the responsiveness and fluidity of 60fps.
My PS2 games say otherwise.

But now that we've been shown the light of 60 and even 120fps gaming, to go back to the old ways is silly. Yeah, PS2 games were good for the time and I enjoyed them, but there's no acceptable reason for 30fps framerate caps today.

I agree, although framerate doesn't fall into the "graphics" category for me and more like "basic functionality". Imagine if a game controls badly or crashes constantly. Those things and a low framerate are basic things which all games need to avoid.
