So how did everyone enjoy Hedge Fund investors getting absolutely BTFOed over the last week? Melvin Capital reportedly lost at least $5.05 BILLION.
The real BTFOing hasn't started yet.

Iโd be surprised if any legitimate historians keep him out of the running for the worst.

Precedent is super important in our legal system. An event like this definitely needs to set one for future reference should American politics continue to become more unhinged in the future.
What do you think about the argument against impeaching before an investigation?

probably wishful thinking though
Yeah. I thought it was going to happen this time too but after the underwhelming GOP vote yesterday, hearing about Lindsay Graham calling up other Republican Senators to acquit while on Trumpโs jet, and Mitch still being undecided, I have low hopes. Iโm guessing it might end up being Mitt and a few others at best.

I thought one death was the officer that got beaten with a fire extinguisher, and the other four were rioters. One of them at least was a rioter, since she got shot through the doorway by an officer.
You are correct. I was arguing with the notion that that they were taking it easy on them (or secretly supporting them) when there ended up being so many deaths. However, after further reading, it looks like the other three were due to โmedical emergenciesโ so maybe this was a somewhat weak point. I still disagree with demonizing the capitol police, many of whom are feeling demoralized and suicidal about the ordeal. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/capitol-police-morale-decline/

Not sure how I feel about this narrative to vilify the Capitol Police in a scenario where they were incredibly overwhelmed and that resulted in five lives lost.
It's reasonable to assume that the response would have been different if it was ANTIFA or something (a discrepancy between police responses in right-wing vs left-wing protests is a fact supported by data) but the National Guard probably would have been called much sooner. They were withheld by President Trump, who was reportedly pleased with the riot while it was occurring. I don't think I can fathom why democrats or republicans would want to be stormed by an angry mob of fascists and conspiracy theorists, when they were literally in the building.
The video of them "letting them in", is actually the police falling back because they knew they wouldn't be able to hold their position. The only person waving them in is some guy in a hoodie and sweatpants. Not sure what to make of the selfie guy, but to my understanding there's an investigation going on.
There's not some big conspiracy here. The only villains are the mob members that were chanting "hang Mike Pence" and had combat gear and zip tie hand cuffs, our dangerous rogue president, and the GOP members that continue to enable him.
Feel free to fact check me on any of this.

So our elected officials are currently debating on whether or not to certify a democratic election, while protestors are trying to breach the building to push them toward not going with democracy.
am I reading this right?

I was around middle school age (had to be 2007 or 2008) and I woke up from a nap on my futon. I went over to this stand in my room and a stick of deodorant randomly slid toward me while everything else on the stand stayed still. I had just woken up, so it was hard to process what happened immediately.
I would have had more stories back then, but I feel like they all can be easily explained as an adult that doesn't believe in anything paranormal. The obvious explanation is that it didn't happen and I was dreaming or something. But I remember it more clearly than any dream and I doubt I was in some half-asleep state, considering I had just woken up and was walking. Just one of those weird memories that have stuck with me over the years that I don't know what to make of.

My theory about all the stock market horror stories you hear is that some people played their hands stupidly. The biggest mistake an investor can make is getting the mentality that they'll be rich overnight. What wins you the stock market is playing the long game. Memes definitely aren't long game.
Well, youโre absolutely correct.

Oh yeah, Ian reported a post of mine to the fucking FBI and I got a nice visit from a plainclothes agent. Could've ended up in jail for years if I wasn't a pleasant, polite person. So that was pretty messed up.

Depends on what youโre looking for. This place is unlikely to pick back up, unless thereโs another major event that causes everybody to stay in.
B.old was basically Reddit-lite, so you could check out over there. I mostly dislike Reddit, but Iโve found a couple decent subs.

Not that we had high expectations for Trump, but his staff and the GOP (that know what heโs doing is wrong) continue to enable him as he continues to do nothing but divide the nation.
And Iโm sure theyโll all benefit from it career-wise.
This is assuming he knows what he is doing. Big assumption.
He certainly knows what heโs doing in terms of constantly victimizing himself, peddling unfounded conspiracy theories/misinformation, and punishing any dissent among his followers. In terms of the consequences of his actions: possibly not, but I doubt he cares either way.

Donโt know if Iโll get my brother anything.
You guys don't get each other gifts? Isn't that kinda awkward
eh, i have before. we've just never made each other feel obligated to buy for each other. doesn't help that he's a difficult person to get gifts for. maybe i should this year though
