Still waiting for Telltale Star Wars.

Look if, you want to e called a woman because you got your dick cut off, okay. I'll do that. But that doesn't change the fact that you have XY chromosomes. You ARE male, whether you like it or not.
Sex and gender aren't the same thing

Which is exactly why I said what I did in my first sentence. However, just because you dress up or make alterations to your body doesn't change your sex. You're still a man/woman, now matter what you try to convince yourself or others otherwise.

Just because I think I'm black in my head doesn't make it true if I'm actually white. I suddenly can't start bitching about how I'm not getting special treatment (well I can, but no one will take me seriously), or being treated how I want to be.

Personally, it seems like a delusional state of mind. A disconnection from reality. Most of, if not all, the transgenders I know a familial  and physiological issues.
"People who have a mental disorder seem to have psychological issues"

Wow, really, you think so?

And seriously, the chromosome argument is one of the most stupid, tired arguments I've ever seen.

Would you yell at a gay guy because he's "not meant" to fuck other guys because his body still contains semen, which is used to impregnate women? He's still straight at heart, obviously, he just wants attention and special treatment!

1) Why, because it uses science to determine your sex, not how you feel? Be whatever gender the fuck you want, but your sex cannot change. Just because you want to be or think you are female does not make you so.

2) No, because sexual orientation is determined genetically in your DNA, just like whether you are male or female.
1) Yes, and NOBODY ARGUES THAT. Biological sex is incredibly important for medical purposes, so nobody except the crazies on Tumblr would ever deny that undergoing gene therapy would change your biological sex. That is not, however, a reason to constantly remind trans people or hold it over their heads. Frankly it's just a sucker punch to any legitimate transperson experiencing dysphoria, since you're basically taunting them with something they're already perfectly aware of.

2) Exactly. And the more medical and psychological work is done on it, the more prove-able GID is as an actual, test-able mental disorder. But even if it were not, I'd ask: why the hell does that matter? Would you prevent someone from wanting to gain muscle mass, or get piercings, or get tattoos, or anything of that sort? It's their bodies, they're perfectly free to change their gender. After that it simply becomes a matter of respecting their wishes and referring to them as male or female, rather than being an asshat and going "WELL YOU'VE STILL GOT A Y-CHROMOSOME SO THAT MAKES YOU A DUDE.

Also, what would you say to people born intersex, since they don't fit a gender-binary from the second they pop out of the womb?

You act is if I'm actively participating in going against transgenders. Be whatever the fuck you want. I don't care.

The fact remains though, they are still the sex they are born with, no matter how many physical and mental transformations they go through. If some transgender person comes up to me and asks me to refer to him as a woman, I will. But in my mind and scientifically speaking, he's still a male human.

723
Third video I posted deserves a watch for those who cling onto the chromosome argument.

Yes, and that's a genetic mutation. One of the many wonders life gives us. They don't have a specific sex due to this mutation, which is where gender roles come into play. However, I'm speaking of those who are born "normally". Yes, some of them could have varied hormonal makeups, whcih might cause a slightly more feminine/masculine thinking,  but they are still male/female despite what they personally believe.

gotcha

see, that's actually nice
and clean

Yeah. Also, everything is being coordinated by the Lucasfilm story group, so we don't have a bunch of contradictions, and everything makes sense within the universe for the most part.

Thank the lord.

The Plinkett review? Seriously?

Get over it Tackelberry. If you don't agree with the points made, and you disagree with people's critique of the prequels, then don't try and bait people into that discussion again.

I was waiting for you to catch it.

Quote
The essential idea was to give a monkey a dollar and see what it did with it. The currency Chen settled on was a silver disc, one inch in diameter, with a hole in the middle -- "kind of like Chinese money," he says. It took several months of rudimentary repetition to teach the monkeys that these tokens were valuable as a means of exchange for a treat and would be similarly valuable the next day. Having gained that understanding, a capuchin would then be presented with 12 tokens on a tray and have to decide how many to surrender for, say, Jell-O cubes versus grapes. This first step allowed each capuchin to reveal its preferences and to grasp the concept of budgeting.

...

During the chaos in the monkey cage, Chen saw something out of the corner of his eye that he would later try to play down but in his heart of hearts he knew to be true. What he witnessed was probably the first observed exchange of money for sex in the history of monkeykind.

We hardly know anything about the game man. We haven't seen any real game play, how can anyone make up their minds about it so soon.

Some of us got to see gameplay at Celebration though.

If you use mods for single players games and for new maps online then you're good. If you use mods to gain an advantage in a competitive online enviroment, the kill yourself.

« on: April 23, 2015, 09:17:46 AM »
If the state of the game does not change, I may pick it up as a "premium edition" with all the DLC, like battlefield does, if the price is bdlow $20 or so. That's only if the gameplay is solid though.

740
Just a quick question, did any of you feel anything during the fall of the jedi? When it was showing Jedi masters like aayla secura, Ki adi Mundi, and Plo Koon being betrayed and killed by their own troops?

I was a fan of EU at the time, so yes for some.

Now that the clone wars has happened and shizzle, poor Plo Koon :(

Gaming / Re: Why Star Wars: Battlefront seems limited
« on: April 23, 2015, 06:05:35 AM »
So you're telling us that EA or Disney(Which ever one is founding this game.) even though has billions doesn't have enough money to found a game? Does your ass get jealous of the amount of shit coming out of your mouth?

I'm not saying they don't. I'm saying EA is probably maximising profit for as little cost as possible, which resulted in this. DICE probably didn't have much funding to work with. Why don't you actually read the OP instead of insulting people, asshat.

And by all means I'm not idolizing the prequels. Just like the Original trilogy, it has it's ups and downs.

Oh shit, you just complimented the PT and insulted the OT in one sentence. TAKE COVER!

Caring about Anakin's seduction is, in my opinion, a nitpick, and something that can be overlooked very easily.
its the single most important plot point of the entire series! it should be harshly criticized for being poorly thought-out.

If you hate the movie and the prequel era so much, why bitch about it online? Why put all this time and effort into something that you dislike? Wouldn't you just ignore it? It makes no sense logically. Unless...you secretly love the prequels, don't yah Squidward?

i care because vader was the exact opposite of stupid. thats an inconsistent character. you dont just magically stop being an idiot once you get sith powers.
He's also how old in the original trilogy? Seems like he would have wizened up a little to me.

Unless you're referring to sources outside of the movies, in which case, I couldn't give the most miserable fuck.
luke was about 20 at the beginning of a new hope. anakin was ~23 when luke and leia were born (he had already turned at this point). so anakin would have been 43/44 during the events of a new hope. a lot can happen in 23 years, but when you're as fucking stupid as prequels anakin, you dont get that much smarter. vader was shrewd, intelligent, a great tactician, and he knew how to read people. prequels anakin was a halftard who happened to be good in combat situations; a savant. there is no explanation given between the events of episode III and episode IV to justify such a radical change in his intellectual capacity, unless the vader suit enhanced his brain. which, come to think of it, could be plausible, but still doesnt give a good explanation for him turning in the first place. ill go check and see the extent of the vader augmentations.

The prequels are the answer to that question. After the events of EP 3 it only makes sense that Vader would look back on his mistakes and how irrational he was and would try to change that and become more tactical.

Plenty of people do stuff like that everyday. It's called improving yourself.

Plenty of people learn from their mistakes and try to change.

"B-but, muh original trilogy!"
