I'm Star Wars biased...

Is that really a movie though?

If you bought the DVDs, it's formatted like one, so I say yes.

If we ever get some content creation that takes off (YouTube vids, more recent game reviews, etc.) we could stay strong for a good long while.

Also, as long as Bungie.net sucks we should be reasonably fine.
Hmm...I don't like the idea that we ride off of Bungie. I think we should stick with them for a bit, absorb the better members and just become an independent gaming site.
Well yeah...that'd be great. The problem is actually doing it.

I can manage the site and troubleshoot the forum errors like a boss, and I'd like to think I'm a decent community manager, but we're going to need some extra hands if we want this place to keep getting awesome.

The YouTube thing for one. I hate making videos. I'm more the photoshop/illustrator type. We should start putting together some kind of video something to draw interest to the site.

Our reviews that we have are awesome and I can see that growing.

I can't really think of anything else we need to branch out to, but I'm sure there are other places and things to do to bring in traffic.
Heck yes, let's do it. Go on a recruiting spree! Go to your college class and find some trusted fellows who know their way around a computer. I could make that video/be the youtube guy. I would then send the videos to a more capable member to edit it and make it more pretty. L
Hm..Let's get an AD in gameinformer. I'd be willing to chip in to the cost.
I think we have a YouTube channel that someone made, but we need someone that can edit video, yeah.

I mean...I have a degree in graphic design, so I could do it, but I'd rather pull teeth than deal with video editing software (also not a fan of flash for this reason).

T-shirts were also a thing I was turning around in my mind, and that is something that would be awesome if we ever decide to go out into the real world to an event of some kind (or just wear it to Walmart or something; whatever).

Why not a Machinima on Halo? I'm very good friends with the owner of Machinima Union and we could either get him to help or even help with the Halo Archive's Machinima stuff once the scripting finishes.

Also, should we make a new thread for this?

Machinima Union? Ha, good luck working with those guys. I've worked with them over the past couple years in various things. They're incompetent.

Hmm... just made a thread asking about the youtube thing. Could be interesting, especially if we don't limit it to gameplay garbage.

EDIT: That being said, I have a high quality capture card. I am very good with video editing software (though I need to purchase an upgrade to AE). So who knows...I'll make something sometime.

News / Re: Review - Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion
« on: October 06, 2014, 06:38:24 PM »
eeew shitty 3dcg

Also why the frack is a Jedi openly running around like that? He'd be assassinated in no time.

Christ at least the Jedi masters from the the TFU game were all hiding in secluded locations and were, you know, fracking Jedi masters.

He was disguised as non-Jedi for the most part until the end. No different from Obi-wan exposing himself in the cantina. I see no issue.

Obi-wan still hid out in the middle of the desert on a backwater world for like 40 years before involving himself in the rebellion.

You know, meaning he hid himself so he wouldn't be discovered during what would have been an incredibly dangerous time to be a jedi and only came out during a time where the Empire wasn't really hunting Jedi anymore.

Everyone has their way of coping. I would go ahead and assume Kanan was 10-15 with the order fell...so  he never became a Jedi knight or gained full control of his emotions. Using his powers to fight the Empire would have probably been the most logical choice to him. Not saying it's the right one, but I could see why it happened.

And as a result he should have a very short lifespan.

Meh, got lucky I guess? There's probably something in A New Dawn about it... but who reads books?

A dude running around waving his lightsaber all over the place is going to attract all kinds of attention. It's more like Disney is taking a dump on established canon in order to sell merchandise to children.

I don't see your point. He was hiding being a Jedi until now, and now that he is waving his lightsaber around, an Inquisitor is sent to kill him. Seems perfectly inline with already established "canon" that was put as non-canon earlier this year.
unless you are trying to say that the prequels and the original trilogy are not canon i have no idea what you are trying to say.

Extended Universe canon that is now non-canon.

« on: October 05, 2014, 03:53:46 PM »
No I do not. As long as it is not too rough and the parent is only trying to teach the child discipline. There are obviously better parenting methods though than to get physical.

obviously.

The Flood / ITT: Tell the story of your childhood
« on: October 05, 2014, 02:51:46 PM »
I lived in a lower middle class family, in a neighbor that was half way converted to ghettohood. Mother was a chemical scientists with a bachelors degree, Father was a highschool drop out cop. I had 1 sister who was an anti social, school loving nerd. My Father taught me how to fight, and how to fight dirty, so it's safe to say I've never lost a fight. (Fight me IRL u scrubs)

I went to an elementary school full of low IQ hillbillies. I was the top of my class and one of the most advance students in the district. Made friends with an ADHD black kid. He taught me how to draw better and shit. We eventually made comic books. If I remember correctly, it was a boy and his Doc Brown-like Uncle who would make crazy inventions and help the kid out with family and school in his weird way. Basically "Rick and Morty", only for Elementary schoolers.

We would make 10 copies of the same comic every afternoon for a week before making the next. Sold them at school for 50 cents each. Classmates loved them and we were rolling in the big bucks. 5 whole dollars a week, man! We eventually got in trouble and the school confiscated out money (greedy bastards).

Once middle school hit, I got bullied a lot. I'm usually very quiet and keep to myself. Then one day I was pushed to far and got into a fight. 3 on 1, but the other 2 back off after a couple of hits. The last one was a giant sack of lard, so I got a heavy duty stick to defend myself. Behind us was a ditch, which I knew a good way to get to the other side of. I backed up onto a large rock and pushed off it to jump back onto the other side of the ditch. With the rock moved from my jump, there was no easy way across. Basically felt like this.
Spoiler
So this idiotic lard decides to start climbing up the side of the ditch to get to me. As soon as his head poked up, WHAM! knocked him right in the face with my mighty stick. He fell back and hit his forehead on the rock. I got suspended and changed schools after that.

Of course, that wasn't the last time fat lard messed with me. Turns out we lived near each other. So after I finished visiting my black friends house in the summer, I get ambushed and surrounded by him and 4 of what I can assume to be down-syndrome kids with sticks and a metal pipe. The fucker with the metal pipe came at me first, and I wasn't gonna have any of that. I grabbed him while he was charging and disarmed him, as well as pop his arm out of socket. At this point the others are beating on me with the sticks, though are only hitting my arms to try to get me to drop the pipe, which was idiotic. I hit one kid in his knee cap and another in his rib cage. The fat lard dropped his stick and ran off. The last one was going for his bike to ride away. Of course, the guy instead of riding off in the other direction, rides toward me to get away. I stick the pipe in his spokes as he rides by and he flips and does a face plant. They never bothered me much after that.

Fast forward to when I was 14. My mother moved to another state to support us with a different job. My father became more abusive and alcoholic without my mother there. My sister grows to be a fat lard and resents me for her having to watch over me because our father was incompetent. We later move in with my mother. That Thanksgiving, my father blamed me for taking his cigarettes, in which I told him I didn't and went to my room to ignore his yelling. He broke my door down and put his hand around my neck to strangle me. While I was struggling to breath my mother came in and yelled at him to get him to stop. With him distracted I threw him off me. He tried to grab me again, but instead I grabbed him and smashed his head against my wall (I know, that sounds horrible).

Years later and he's not much better, but he doesn't threaten me physically since I'm well stronger than him now. We are currently seeking help for him.

I know that kind of took a weird turn, but meh. Share your lovely or depressing childhood!
