The last game I preordered was Destiny, but that was from years and years ago.

Do you blame me? I was a child then. Naive.
... it wasn't that long ago.
ehh, I preordered Destiny around this time in 2013. Bungie, why did you lie to us ;_;

I preorder whatever game I want.
You shouldn't

Unlike most people, I preorder games that I research and have had a good reputation from the developer. Preordering is showing support for the company. Will I do it for a game that's a piece of shit? No. Will I do it for tthe next portal or L4D? Maybe.

Halo 4 is okay. Story is good, but fell apart for those who weren't familiar with the backstory of characters.
Like who, The Didact?

Why he hates humanity is covered in-game. Even more so in the Terminals.

The terminals in which you have to launch a separate application to view, therefore not being part of the game. And how is it explained in game? The librarian tells you that the prometheans are human and that the Didact fought a war against us and defeated us.

Multiplayer is what you make of it. You either like it or you don't.

Forge, Theater, and Custom Games were a downgrade from Reach.

Spartan Ops was a cool ida but executed poorly.

Halo is Halo. Not need to shove it to imitate other games. Besides, if they did do that, it would be roflstomped in sales by the new Battlefront coming out this year.

looks like it
well, that's good anyway

but it seems to me as though that won't be the, uh
default setting...

Even if it isn't, who cares? I only played in third person on the console version because it took too long to switch to 1st. On the PC I would switch inbetween depending on what I was doing via hotkey. I would assume they would have an instant switch button (select on Xbone and touch pad for PS4?) for POV on consoles now.

I like how people think they'll actually try to improve upon the Star Wars story line or give 2 fucks about the tv show or whatever. If the game even has a story it'll be a generic 3 hour romp that they couldn't care less if you play.

You never know. It IS Star Wars. Then again, it's also DICE.

I would be extremely surprised if this were true. It wouldn't leave EA/DICE with much room for a sequel, and that sounds humorously out-of-character for them.

They can always do different battles and such. That's what Battlefront II basically did until it got into the Dark Times Era. Or follow different troopers. Add new game modes and stuff too. But yeah, I see what you mean.

IMO, this would be a great way to wrap up stories of Clone Troopers from The Clone Wars show, such as Captain Rex. You could still get all the action that'd you get from the TV show as well. If these rumors are true, I wonder which battles they'd incorporate from The Clone Wars into the game? I've always been a fan of Landing at Point Rain.

Well, at least Dice can't totally fuck up the campaign for once, since it's practically already written for them.

I'm still very concerned this will just be a Battlefield in space reskin.

Ehh, I have my hopes. I just hope there's co-op.

>lots of DLC

This actually sounds legit now

You don't need leaks to guess that, its kind of expected. It's Star Wars and a DICE game. I'd imagine they'll do a "Battlefront Premium" type thing.

I was hoping they'd ignore the new trilogy for the most part. I liked the campaigns where you essentially played as a no name soldier.

They better have a matchmaking hopper that has heroes disabled. That shit was broken in BF2.

Spoiler
This is all acting under the assumption that said information is true.

I would assume they'd go the Battlefield way with it and let people rent their own servers, so there will probably be an option to do so. I just hope the allow for co-op campaign and Galactic Conquest. My friend and I used to play the shit out of that.

http://makingstarwars.net/2015/02/tons-star-wars-battlefront-rumors-links-star-wars-force-awakens/

Quote

- The story of Star Wars: Battlefront’s campaign will span pretty much the entire Star Wars saga.
Star Wars Battlefront will feature segments in which you play as both the good guys ( Rebellion and Republic) and bad guys (Separatists and the Empire). It was specifically stated that there will be a small portion of prequel trilogy content. You will participate in a couple of battles from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and the space battle above Corsucant from the beginning of Revenge of the Sith.

- The majority of the campaign will take place during the original trilogy era. All of the battles and settings that you would expect to be there will be playable. It was said that the campaign itself is pretty long when compared to other first person shooters.

- There will be some segments of the campaign which take place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. There won’t be a lot because in their words “Lucasfilm has a lot of plans for that era.”

- The last section of the campaign takes place before and during the opening segments of The Force Awakens. Don’t expect anything too revealing, because the game is expected to ship about a month before the movie releases.

- For both the Republic (that’s what the good guys are being called in the production here) and Empire sections you will be playing characters that actually appear in The Force Awakens.

- The scale of the multiplayer is going to be absolutely massive with up 64 players participating on each side.
Space to land battles are absolutely happening, but will only be available in certain game modes.
There will be a “hero” system in place, where as you play you accumulate points that you can eventually cash in to play as a “hero” character. These characters are extremely powerful and have abilities that are not available to the normal characters that you play for most of the matches. The system is constantly in flux, but as it is now, pretty much everyone have a chance to play as a hero at least once per match.

- The Downloadable Content plan for the game is “extremely aggressive”. Expect up to five DLC packs for the game, with the first coming out before the end of 2015. Each pack will be themed, with the first two or three being exclusively based around content from The Force Awakens.

- The game will ship with several The Force Awakens characters already, but some won’t be added until DLC. Specifically all of the characters in the trailers will be available at launch, as will new versions of the X-wing an TIE fighter.

- Tons of new ships and vehicles.

More is in the article posted.

What do you think?

Meh, the show is not bad its how it looks, and the NEW characters, bland and unoriginal.

There's still an interesting story to tell at least. Plus, the shows getting some character from The Clone Wars back, like Hondo and Ahsoka.
