Mods can add things that the developers wouldn't have had time to, or simply wouldn't have thought of.

IMO, you're having a better experience than the developers intended. I haven't even mentioned total conversion mods, which don't affect the vanilla game at all but act like a completely separate game.

I don't like mods, at all. I don't care if you think it's "lore friendly", I don't care if you think the game is "improved". To me, the fact that the game improves upon being modded is all the more reason to play the game vanilla (or not play the game at all, because any game that gets better upon getting modified is probably a shitty game to begin with).

To me, there's no such thing as a "lore-friendly mod". They all break the lore. Even the graphics-enhancing ones. In the game's universe, the unmodded vanilla graphics--That's how the universe in that game is. Changing that is changing the fabric of that universe, which to me, is bad. And I won't do it.

Don't get me started on story content. Fuck that bullshit. I don't want to interact in some shitty fan fiction. I only care about what the developers slaved over, not what some idiot sitting in his room designed because he thought it was cute or funny.

I figure in order to have "favorite" historical figures, I'd have to agree with their philosophies to an extreme level, so I can't say I have any. If a fellow's philosophy sings logically to my ears, I'll take it up, but I've never agreed with a person 90% or higher on anything of substance, as far as my knowledge of these people goes.
