Celebrities, or anyone with a fanbase, have influence. The bigger they are, the more influence they have. There are people who know everything Repzion has done and are still fans of him. As of this momoment, over 320 thousand of them. That doesn't scare the fuck out of you? 47559

I only really made a thread about it because it's just kinda jarring to me. It's like when Sonic the Hedgehog appeared alongside Mario in a video game. It's surreal to me.
But yeah, if none of you know him, you can't really appreciate just how weird it really is. 47562

He's a big deal on YouTube. Pretty-boy himself He's another atheist vlogger, so think The Amazing Atheist, but replace all his rampant belligerency with insufferable sanctimony. He has that pretty-boy goody-goody kind of style, he's very condescending about his atheism, and he is one of those guys who proudly proclaims themselves to be a "nerd" and goes out of his way to show off how much of a "nerd" he is. He's also a disgusting piece of shit who says and does incredibly stupid things (ie. he criticized a couple guys for uploading a video of them fake-masturbating in public, and then proceeded to do the same thing at comic-con while dressed up as Deadpool) and thinks he's deep and insightful. He'll say controversial shit he doesn't really believe in just to stir up controversy and get views (saying that committing suicide is "beautiful", for example). And much more. He's a piece of garbage. 47565

Because of statements like this:
Quote If a diabetic, on his way to buy insulin, is killed by a runaway truck, he is the victim of an accident. If the truck was delivering sugar, he is the victim of an oddly poetic coincidence. But if the truck was delivering insulin, ah! Then he is the victim of an irony. It may not seem so profound, but we live in a society where "irony" is up there with some of the most abused words in the English language. Up there with "edgy", "epic", "literally", and "legitimately". 47575

Belief in ghosts is pretty childish. And that's not an insult, or even a statement against children. We teach children about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman, and while I personally don't agree with this traditional practice, it's indisputable how very fun it is for children to believe in the existence of these characters. The world becomes something out of a fairytale. Then the magic disappears as soon as you learn the truth.
In a similar light, I would go out on a limb to assume that most people who believe in the existence of ghosts are indeed children, because it's fun to believe in such a thrillingly mysterious thing. It posits the tacit implication that there is life after death, and the very thought of stuff like "haunted houses" gives people the chills, similar to the type of chills they get from seeing a horror movie. It's fun to believe in ghosts. It's like playing pretend. It's like you get to keep a little piece of that childhood naivété in your psyche. For a lot of people, the prospect of a universe with no magic or mystery in it is a very depressing one. But it is the real one. 47577
