He'll say controversial shit he doesn't really believe in just to stir up controversy and get views (saying that committing suicide is "beautiful", for example).

It's fun to believe in ghosts. It's like playing pretend. It's like you get to keep a little piece of that childhood naivété in your psyche.

For a lot of people, the prospect of a universe with no magic or mystery in it is a very depressing one.
