Suffering usually comes with an actual loss of something, whether it be physical or mental. It isn't simply "not" having gained anything.

We've already mastered the art of preventing starvation and thirst, so we spend our time thinking up these big questions like "what does it mean", "why are we here", when the simple answer is nothing, no reason. You can overthink yourself to death about why you're in the maze, and I hope the contrived answer you get is more fulfilling than the tasty, real block of cheese I'll have.

If something truly happens for no reason, which I think is just bogus, either way, you need a justification for the phenomenon. A reason. Why are we here—No, why should we be here? Why should we continue? What is our contribution?
