Someone enjoying their lives isn't stupid. And that's not really a "purpose" so much as a philosophy. And what philosophy is is a description of reality. There are good descriptions of reality, and there are bad descriptions of reality, but the idea is, that's what we're doing. You build purpose off of your philosophy. If a machine is broken, either fix it, or build a new machine. Basic stuff like that. Enjoying your life, if that's all you value, is hedonistic (which I use as a pejorative), selfish, and egocentric. Risking your own life to experience some frivolous pleasure is infinitely stupid, and you deserve whatever negative happens to you if it does happen to you. You gamble your money, you should expect to lose. In fact, let's not gamble at all. The pleasures I enjoy are simple with no real risk involved. I play games from time to time, or maybe I'll write a short story. These things give me pleasure, but there's relatively zero risk of me harming myself. If your idea of fun IS having that risk, I call you an idiot. Unless your idea of fun is getting hurt, which, that's still stupid, but I actually think that's even less stupid than someone who's willing to take a risk.

Suffering is essentially not attaining or fulfilling your desires. No. Wrong. Not attaining or fulfilling your desires is a neutral state of mind. Suffering is inherently negative. If you were to put that shit on a number line, feeling suffering would always be a negative experience. Not feeling happiness isn't inherently a bad thing. It's not even really a quantifiable thing. Suffering usually comes with an actual loss of something, whether it be physical or mental. It isn't simply "not" having gained anything.

That's just the thing - there is no reason we're in this "maze". We're here for the same reason that an ant is, or that a robin is. We just are. We're animals, and unlike most animals, we don't spend all our time trying to get food or water. We've already mastered the art of preventing starvation and thirst, so we spend our time thinking up these big questions like "what does it mean", "why are we here", when the simple answer is nothing, no reason. You can overthink yourself to death about why you're in the maze, and I hope the contrived answer you get is more fulfilling than the tasty, real block of cheese I'll have. If something truly happens for no reason, which I think is just bogus, either way, you need a justification for the phenomenon. A reason. Why are we here—No, why should we be here?
