Also, is it as if it never existed, or will the Internet just suddenly stop working for everybody? Random opportunity, and it would just stop working. Lots of people would get fucked over, if they're working, but after at least like, a month or two, we'll have adapted. Well, in my dad's opinion. That's why I expect a lot of big fat "no"s. If it makes discussion more fruitful, then you can talk about what it would be like if the Internet never existed. If society would be "better" or not.

I had this conversation with my father, and he'd be dead-set on ending the Internet. He doesn't think it has any value whatsoever (I don't agree) and society would be better off without it.
Most of you are going to say "fuck no," but I think there's at least some discussion to be had. I'm not gonna say whether I'd press it or not, but I will say that I'd consider it carefully. It wouldn't be an easy choice for me, either way.
