Procreation.

Which would be a cop-out answer if it wasn't said by someone like me.
AKA Carrying Capacity of the Earth overloads.
Well, that, on top of the whole humanity has dug itself into a hole so deep, it can't possibly dig itself out of it without the pain and suffering of billions of sentient creatures...

You're wasting time attempting to argue with us floodians who are apparently below you serious-goers.
Exactly, but at least I'm taking a peek into your psyche. Which is something.

better than

Well fuck right off back to the serious board then where you belong.
Why didn't you just say that initially? That's all you really have to say.

why is your oh-so-sophisticated sense of humor worthy of pride?
Because I'm able to recognize when I'm just wasting time. If I'm gonna waste time, I want to waste it over something that I could possibly achieve some sort of... I don't know, interesting perspectives on. Teach me about this new radical philosophy you learned about in class, or argue with me about why Dark Souls isn't a bad game. Something where I can actually learn something with a modicum of value.

or just make stupid jokes

Discussion, yeah, but a bit of lighthearted fun doesn't hurt, does it?
We don't GET a "bit" of it.

It comprises 90% of The Flood's content.

Like Meta Cognition said, this is why Serious is just the superior board.

why are you proud of your stick?
Because it prevents me from being entertained by humor fit for small children.

Well... Middle schoolers. Most children probably don't know what porn is. I'd hope.

Well that's pretty fucking stupid. I'm not here to entertain you with your idea of a joke.
You shouldn't be here to entertain period. That's my point. It can certainly be an ulterior motive, but the main function of a forum ought to be... substantive discussion.

This is a joke. Well, intended to be a joke. Until all of you fucks came out of the woodwork.
Any thread that contains no content except for a shitty, childish joke is classified as a "shitpost". Arbitrarily by me.

When I say "joke", I'm talking about a post within a thread. Or a thread that contains substantial content with some witty humor therein.

No. Wholly.

I really really fucking hate stupid shit that serves no purpose. Jokes are fine... Shitposting is not. Ever.

I remember why I rarely leave Serious, now.
You serious-goers need to pull those sticks out of your arses, seriously. Lighten up.
you flood-goers need to find a new idiom
because the stick-up-the-ass one is deader than the dead horse that you keep beating with the stick that's up our ass

frankly, at this point, the stick up my ass is just an inherent, infungible part of my personality

well, i always know it's gonna be something stupid, so
so the answer is clearly that you come here for the pleasure of torturing yourself you kinky son of a bitch
it's actually an OCD thing

whenever i see the orange "new" thing next to a topic, i have to click on it

doesn't matter if it's irrelevant to me

Gaming / Re: Are overhyped games better or worse than underhyped games?
« on: December 13, 2014, 11:26:33 AM »
The only way to win is to expect everything to suck (or, at least, expect not to get blown away). That way, maximum enjoyment can be achieved, because you lowered your expectations to that extent. But not too low, so that you blind yourself.

You'll also never get dehydrated again, because there will be a deluge of fanboy tears for you. That's my favorite part!

I haven't been hyped for a game since Brawl, which ended up being god-awful. Everything else I've played since then, even if I hate the game, I'm still able to find enjoyment in there somewhere. And it just feels good not ever being disappointed. Ever!

46368
I don't have to imagine, I've done that. I don't like to drink. Still had a lot of fun hanging out with my friends and meeting other people.
recognize that not everyone is you

i don't even want to be you, you sound disgusting

46369
there are times when you're just wrong, challengerX

can you handle it

46370
That's bullshit. We're social creatures. You may not be comfortable at first but it's good for you and you'll have fun. Trust me.
i can attest to the exact opposite

sometimes social situations are pure agony for five straight hours

imagine being the only sober person at a party that you were personally invited to by the host

so fun

Okay. Let me guess. There's also not a lot of pictures in your house of you. As in, you just aren't in very many photographs. Maybe, at the most, there's two or three.
Nah, I'd say there's a healthy amount. But I avoid looking at those, too. If I do, I can't stop staring, and I get this awful, kafkaesque feeling. Especially the older the photo is, because in those ones, I'm actually smiling.

Yeah, actually. I think I'm eisoptrophobic.

46378
Are you asocial, or antisocial?
This. There IS a difference.

I've only been offered alcohol once, from this cute girl I hung out with in Germany while I was there. I declined it for a plethora of reasons (1. I don't drink alcohol, 2. I do not drink alcohol, 3. If I was caught drinking alcohol by my counselors, I'd be sent home, because despite being in Germany, I still had to adhere to American laws to "set a good standard for Americans." What a crock of shit).

There was virtually no chance of me getting caught, and it probably would've made for an even better experience (regardless, I still had one of the best times of my life over there). It's not like I would have gotten piss drunk. Whenever I think about it again it makes me feel sad.

I wouldn't say I'm awkward or asocial--I can function in social situations, but if I lock myself up in my room and never go out (which I do pretty often, especially now that I'm in college) I sort of forget how people work. It's not an innate part of my psyche, though. If I had any propensity to be more social, I'd be more social.

I've been told that whenever people actually do use the word "verbatim" in context, people think of me.

That gets me all jolly.

Still, others don't even know it's a word, and infuriatingly don't even know how to pronounce it.
How exactly do you pronounce it?
Vərbeɪdəm
/vərˈbādəm/
ver-BAY-dum
