The only thing I don't get is why you weren't aborted Well, go ahead, explain to me what else happened in Empire. Oh, and it doesn't count if it isn't entertaining. No he didn't. Yeah, yeah... Yeah he did.

The only thing I really don't get is why everyone loves Empire.
It's garbage.

I agree.
III = VI > I = IV > II = V

That would be an interesting challenge. Like, a run where you omit the usage of a particular button.

I don't normally do New Year's Resolutions (well, I did last year, I guess), but this year, I want to make it a point to start reading more. A couple of people in my life have noted how pathetically unread I am for someone who likes to spend time contemplating lofty ideas and articulating them in lofty ways, and it's kinda been getting to me lately.
So, I picked up a bunch of stuff relevant to my interests... Les Misérables, Gone Girl, 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World, A Clockwork Orange, and The Catcher in the Rye.
I'd like further recommendations. What are you guys reading right now?
Probably could've made a whole new thread, but I didn't want to risk it not being good enough for Serious, and having it moved to the cesspool that is the Flood.

Skyrim had that problem, too, but I think Fallout was even worse. Bethesda sucks.

Wasn't New Vegas, like, really buggy?
I stopped playing Fallout just because I like a sense of direction in games. Also, the combat is just... ugh, so bad. I remember in the beginning of the game, when you have a pipe or some other bludgeoning weapon (I think), which, when you press the button, there's this huge delay, the noise it makes isn't very loud when hitting stuff, and none of the enemies ever flinch, or show ANY indication whatsoever that you're hitting them. It's the least satisfying combat in a game I've ever played.

TF2 with sprays, but those aren't actually mods in the sense that you're talking about. Yeah, no, but that would've been a good example...

good for you
too bad you apparently don't know how trademarks work
i mean, neither do i, but whatever it is you're doing right now isn't proving anything

not that it'd even end up being an issue. as far as i know, you can't trademark such a common word. Well, apparently Bethesda owns the word "scroll" and Candy Crush owns the word "candy" (if I recall correctly).

you could go with your original misspelled name, then. i'm not about that "misspelling words" life

eminem never had any legal problems with his name That's because he spelled it like "eminem". If he went with M&M, his original MC name, he would've gotten into trouble. You can't sue if the trademark isn't spelled exactly as it is on the tin, literatim. yay, i got to use that word today

Still enjoyed it with mods. See, this is just one of those silly things that people say that I don't understand. Like, yeah, of course you enjoyed it with mods. Are there any games that get shittier with mods?...

I think we all know that we are talking to real people. But thing is, you see, this isn't anywhere near the same as sitting in a room and conversing with each other. And who's fault is that? Because it certainly can be. I'd like it to be.

It's more a concern of how the games are advertised than anything. Skyrim was hyped up as this huge-ass, "do anything, your actions are important, quests are infinite" game and we get "You can only climb that mountain through following a designated path or taking advantage of terrain-planing, choice of dialogue with no effect, quests are only infinite because a number of quests just start over when you complete them."
And NV being insanely branching is an over-exaggeration. You pick up to two sides (primary, secondary) out of four, giving you one of twelve (eight possibilities for picking two, four for picking one primary) epilogue slide-screens. It's not that difficult, Dragon Age: Origins had it for all of your companions. Ah. I think this ended up being a criticism for Mass Effect, too, right? Where they give you the illusion of choice, but it ends up not affecting the plot at all, or something like that. That's lame. That's why Infamous, the first one, is my favorite game that has that choice/karma thing going on. There were only a handful of major events that took place that would massively effect (no pun intended) your karma, but they felt real, nonetheless. To me. And your choices in those few scenarios actually did affect the story quite substantially (which is probably why there's so few). In terms how the game is as advertised as opposed to how it is when you play it, yeah... Advertising has always been sleazy.

That's what real life is for.
Not some small internet forum. The Internet is real life. This isn't some virtual world where you talk to fictional characters. We're real people, with thoughts, opinions, feelings, and emotions. That should mean something to you.

A picture is worth a thousand words. They can be worth millions if you take the Internet seriously.

I don't even understand how you guys began arguing. He's one of these cretins who thinks the Internet shouldn't be "serious business". I'm saying that it fucking well should. That way, we can get things done. No matter how small or inconsequential.

The sense of superiority you think you have gives you absolutely no leverage. You do realize this, right? Whatever that has to do with anything.
