In my ten years of using the Internet, I've never seen a good site update. Just throwing that out there...

You have the ability to stop going there, but you don't.see, that's really stupid though because you can always hate a website and its community, but still have reasons to go there you realize 45154

So, pretty much exactly what I said.

It shows up for me 99% of the time (laptop), but there have been precisely two occasions where I didn't receive one at all, but checked the PMs on a whim to see that, oh, they replied five minutes ago.

I always roll my eyes when I see people praise films with such zeal. I would never do that with any of my favorite films.

Serious / Re: What flaws do some of your role models have?« on: December 30, 2014, 11:28:55 PM »
I don't have any role models, but I do have artistic influences.
Trent Reznor's lyrics range from pretty godly to absolutely cringey. A lot of his best material was created under the influence of hard drugs. He did a PSA for PETA once (good intentions; most likely just ignorant of PETA's treachery) Not only is he a parent now, but he named his kids "Lazarus Echo" and "Balthazar". Really, man? Has been shown to fly off the handle in the past on social media when people ask touchy questions. For example, on his Reddit AMA, someone asked him, "As millionaires, why did you sign up with a record label to promote your new album?" you know, just kind of a snarky asshole thing to ask. Standard Internet fuckery. But at the same time, it's actually a legitimate question--because Trent has spoken out against record labels in the past, and released his last two albums prior to his latest independently (and for free). Trent's response, however, took it to a whole 'nother level: "Sorry, the wifi on our yacht is having issues, we can't get your full question to load. Try sending me an email at gofuckyourself@youcunt.com" I found it kinda funny at first, because that's definitely my brand of insulting people, but at the same time, it's disappointing to see an esteemed musician act so unprofessional. He could've easily ignored the question, but for some reason, he let it get to him. But those are really the only times I've ever been disappointed with something Trent has done that I'm aware of. 45172

I don't actually care too much, though--I know how important meat is to some people. I only ever get genuinely pissed off when people start acting like animals were put here for our consumption, or are generally just... devourous, greedy pigs about it, showing no appreciation for the sacrifice. You don't seem to be like that. 45177

The Flood / Re: Exceeded Expectations« on: December 30, 2014, 10:11:17 PM »Well, nothing in particular, but I mean, that's typically how things go for me. <_<Does it count if your expectations were exceeded only in that it was far WORSE than you had planned? Reverse exceeded? Is there a word for that?Yeah if you want to. Unless we're talking about video games or something like that, where I taught myself to never get hyped for anything (so that my expectations are always exceeded). Umm. Yeah, nothing's coming to me right now. I guess, sort of, the first time I listened to a rap group called Death Grips. I found out about them on /mu/, and anything associated with 4chan, I have an intense, burning prejudice for. I assumed it was just hipster garbage. Then I listened to Exmilitary, and what I got instead was hipster gold. I listen to Death Grips as often as I listen to NIN--which, if I'm honest, I'm growing a little bored of. I need more music. ...but it has to be good... |
