My sister is a staunch supporter of fat acceptance, but her only argument for it is, "It's their life, and it doesn't hurt you."
I'm sick of that platitude. Most fat-shaming exists only on the Internet, and on the Internet, if you're not fat, people will just find other things about you to make fun of. The other prejudice is the sex thing. If you're fat, you're... pretty disgusting to look at naked, and less people will want to fuck you. Which shouldn't really matter that much to anyone, in my opinion, but we live in an irrational society of sex-craved morons, so whatever. Let's pretend I was a sex-craved moron, too. I still think it's a rational rejection--there's no compelling reason to have sex with some fat person, because they're gross and they don't take care of themselves. Is that shallow? Yeah, big time. But no one should have to compromise their standards just to be "nice"--and I use that very loosely.
Sex is sex is sex is sex. It's not a "nice" thing to do, it's not a "mean" thing to do. It's just something we do, and we shouldn't HAVE IT ON THIS GODDAMN FUCKING PEDESTAL THAT WE FUCKING PUT IT ON YOUFUCRAGIFMKFFESJFSIL

Yeah, but who cares? Serious trumps all of them.

I mean, it's fascinating with some heavy physics involved and things like string theory, but without that, it's not a nice thought. Well, I'm just saying, a cold dark and empty universe is a universe that is devoid of responsibilities, liabilities, and other things that need to be taken care of. That can only be a good thing.

I think I'll just retract this post, because I can't stop piling shit on top of it. This isn't about my entire life philosophy.

Pascal's Wager comes to mind. Live as if God exists, because if he does, you get to relax in paradise; if he doesn't, you lived a life of altruism and joy. The only downside is if you're a buffoon that treats a book written thousands of years ago that has suffered from numerous, rough translations as total fact, and you end up dying as a hateful and anxiety stricken nut. I think there's a lot more downsides than that. Namely... which god(s) are you choosing to have this sort of superficial, almost fake belief in? And even if you guess right, is that god gonna be impressed with the notion that all you did was say you believe in him, just so you can get a free ride to paradise? I don't think so. See, I appreciate attempts at middle-ground stuff like this, but they almost never work out. There are just some things that I would never compromise.

I don't like the thought of a vast, cold, dark, empty universe with no real purpose. I do.

It's a joke. I mean, it's such a boring, fruitless discussion now, that I'm reduced to one-word descriptions.

Before I was a vegan, I liked the cheese curds that Culver's has.

I missed the sign-up for Anarchy, now I have to patiently wait until the next time it rolls around. It's stupid. It's just this place, with porn.

They fixed that. Effort values are factored into stats after every single battle now; not just when you level up. New in Gen VI.

They need to stop making sequels of movies that did not need sequels.

I'm not even trying to be snarky, either. If you stop caring, it'll come to you faster, and you can have a little internal "yesss" when you get it. Unless you make threads like this, in which case, I just downvote you every time.

Of course. OP didn't say omnipotent, though; just omniscient. I think that's kind of important.

I knew the twist going in, and it didn't affect my enjoyment at all.
WELL... I can't SAY that. But I mean... I'm just saying, I don't really put twists on a pedestal like everyone else does. The film stands just fine on its own feet without the twist, and it's one of those rare twists that makes subsequent viewings even better, because now you're perceptive of all the foreshadowing and neat shit like that.
