Well of course, the current criteria as explained in the sticky is that it's for somewhat serious discussion of serious topics rather than serious discussion of topics. Well, there you go, then. I'm advocating for the serious discussion of topics rather than the discussion of serious topics in the Serious board. That's what I'm pushing for. Having a serious discussion of any topic in the Flood is nigh impossible. Every now and then I make a poll asking the community if they use a particular forum feature--strangely, those threads are taken seriously, but if I actually want to discuss anything, like the new Death Grips album, it gets drowned out with literally 0 replies. Why? Shitposting.

Possible changes to the boards are currently being discussed. One of the main ideas is to only allow things like politics and religion in Serious so that a lot more threads with discussion value would be made in Flood instead. Well, I'm glad it's a discussion that's taking place, but in my opinion, the sheer amount of shitposting in this forum alone is enough to shy away users who want to discuss substantive things for fear of having their thread drowned out entirely by all the crap. It's certainly happened before. So, I mean, I don't think that would really change anything. In my opinion, I think Serious should be more open to topics other than politics and religion. Anyone who wants to have a serious discussion about anything can put it in that board, and the Flood can be Shitpost Central. That's honestly how I'd do it.

I know how scared to shit the mods are of using their banning abilities, but this shit is just too obnoxious. And I'm not even talking about the spam itself. At one point, one of two shitheads edited in my username into the quotation, so now every time they do their stupid quoting each other back and forth uselessly thing, I get a notification for it.
A number of things can be done about this, and I'll allow you to use your imagination. If there's one thing I'd suggest, it would be to strengthen the mute feature. Whoever you have muted, you will never receive notifications from.Edit: Okay, you guys appear to be aware of this anyway. Disregard.
